What rights do Power of Attorneys have and does a ...

What rights do Power of Attorneys have and does a divorce settlement override a benificiary on a TSP Savings plan.  My husband just died and I was POA.  I withdrew on his account to pay for care, groceries and bills. I lost time from work. Now his sons from a previous marriage wants me to pay them back for the money I withdrew from his account. Also they are claiming a divorce settlement leaves them 2/3 of life ins. adn 50% of all retirements. I was the benificiary now they are fighting for it. What rights do I have. I live in Virginia.

Immediately go to an attorney.  I'm assuming your husband was a government employee and your situation can be a little sticky.  You said that they "claim" the divorce settlement leave them the money, but you need to be sure, and you need a lawyer to ascertain that.  If you cannot afford an attorney, call your local Bar association to see what might be available free to you.  Good luck and hope you win.

Go to an Attorney but take all important papers with you as in this matter seek legal advice ASAP.
