Divorce

My husband and i filed for a divorce in april of 2008. The divorce has been filed in the courts.We are in that 6 month waiting period stage. divorce will not be final until October 2008. We have decided that we do not wanna be divorced now. How do we revoke or stop this divorce?

Hi,
Simply send an official letter to the court saying that you decided to withdraw your claim for divorce and that you decided to keep on living together as husband and wife.  Both of you should sign it.  You'll have to give refferences to your file (so they'll be able to locate it).

You need to notify both your lawyers so that they in turn will notify the judge who is in charge of the divorce about the change of your plans, that you both don't want to go through with the divorce.

Hi with all due respects your desciion to reconcile must have made you or your husband re-think about the what if's.  At a certain age for couples somewhat like spouses even who are over seas and travel away from family that causes an effect for wanting another partner.  I am gathering that both of you spoke about what the effects are and what drastic descisions can occur once that divource is final.  If you have been married for over 10-15 years, in most cases, the couple will remain married especially if there is children involved in the relationship. Although you must clearly have to make honest and clear choices to find out why you decided to divource in the first place.  Many times spouses remain unsure about their choices, but in life no one is perfect. We only chose because we also are emontionally connected to that person we care for.   Financial security, a safe home and protection are considered to be the number one reason if we lack this abilitiy to support each other.   However remember why you married in the first place.  I am pleased to learn you are willing to stay together until death due us part.  Your ability to decide that I hope is what you both want and not what others want.  The attorney's will ask you the big question and I will value your judgement in making the choice your about to tell them. Remember that emotions come and go but your partner can not be replaced.  There are cultural differences and how we were raised, however if you can tolerate someone and still love them, the couple will make a great long journey of better things in life waiting for them.  I learned that patience is a virtue.   I for do not support the idea of divource, although you should begin saying now it's all about what we make of life together.  Good luck and if you truely love each other, no one else should be making that for you.  I am happy for you both.  There may be fees hidden by your attorneys, but then again, that wouldn't matter to me just so long, we are happy we are making that descision together.
