It's probably still floating, becuase it appears in a list of tourist attractions in Eilat. I couldn't find information about the condition of Zorba or pictures of it, but you can call the owners and ask: +972-52-4415656 (mobile) or +972-8-6331717.

The ship is currently a diving ship in southern Israel. I would love to get images and reports on its condition as it was originally a sailing vessel in Norway and one of the few remaining floating. (I hope....)

Too young to retire

It's a pretty famous ship actually. It was built sometimes back in the 20's (that is, the 1920's) in Norway by a famous shipbuilder whose name I don't remember. I think there aren't that many of its kind still active. Last time I heard the owner considered selling it.

I sailed on Zorba 1989-93 but not as a member of the crue. The owners of Zorba at the time were my friends. Zorba was in good condition then. She made daily trips from Eilat in Israel to Coral island on the Egyptian side.  I'd love to know more about her since I just loved the boat. Unfortunately I have lost contact with the owners.

I know that in the middle of 1990's the company was called for Eilat cruises.

borealis, do you know more about Zorba's history in Norway?
