Disposition of harvestable crops on land in the process of being sold

what is the law regarding property in the process of being sold which has harvestable crops on it?  Do the crops belong to the buyer or seller.?  If the seller owns the land until paid can he harvest the crops until he is paid?

Here's an answer from a South Dakota statute. I would imagine that this may vary depending on where you're located.
