Disk on key hangs the safe removal tool

A few days ago I got one of these flash disks called "disk on key". When I try to disconnect it using the safe removal tool it just hangs. If I restart or shutdown afterwards the whole system will hang and I'll need to manually reboot my computer. Maybe someone have a clue?  Operating system is windows XP. "Disk on key" is an unknown brand.

RE: Disk on key hangs the safe removal tool

Double-click the icon in the system tray that refers to devices plugged into your computer (see link below for detailed explanations)

Select USB Mass Storage Device and click Stop

Confirm which device you want to stop,

select it and click OK (i.e.; USB Mass Storage Device)

Remove the device when you see the message, "It is safe to remove the device"

RE: Disk on key hangs the safe removal tool

That's exactly what I'm tryind to do. I just don't get the message: "It is safe to remove the device". Instead safe removal tool just hangs. And as I said before, system completely hangs when I try to reboot.

I found the answer in this Q&A blog!

I've tried the device on other computers. They experience the same problem. It seems the problem is on the mobile device.
