Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using the Internet versus the library to research a topic. Give specific examples.

The library has a reference librarian to help you, the internet has me.  I would chose the librarian any day of the week (that the library is open of course, then it's internet for sure).

So there are two examples.  I'm sure other people can give you more.

Also, anyone can put whatever information in the internet without having to  guarantee the information is real, accurate or even true. I mean I can make up whatever story I want and make a website about it.

A book usually get proof read and takes a lot of effort to publish, the author has to put their name on it, and face the consequences of unfounded information. Usually reading something in a book has better chances of being accurate then the internet.

 

Another issue is the amount of information and the  way it's organized.
a library has limited amount of information which is catalogued by topic and author. Google and other search engine uses keywords and names of sites and popularity, so many times you'll get irrelevant sites on searches.
