Disconnected

My husband and I dont seem to connect much anymore when having sex. How can I convince him to be more sensitive about what I want instead of all about him?

Live simply, love generously and  care deeply.

Amanda,

You both need to see a marriage counselor and a sex therapist.  You can discuss your problems with a third party who could guide you both and will help you solve your misunderstanding about sexual matters.  And also he will realize that in marriage, it is always give and take, not take and take.

   Take care.

Seek some counseling , there could be some other things going on in your marriage that you are not aware of .   Is this something new in your marriage ?  Have you shared these feelings with your husband and told him what you need , if not do so immediately .  He is your husband should be the closest person to you in the world ,   chances are he is already aware that something is not quite right , do not make him guess what you need from him .  Explain to him that you love him and want a deep loving relationship with him .   If you have shared your feelings with him and he's not responding  then he is being selfish , and as dogbreeder said he needs to understand give and take in a relationship .  Counseling will open up the communication so you both can achieve what you want and need .

Personality can open doors, but only character can keep them open.

Amanda, I was just wondering how long you and your husband have been married for? Does you husband have a stressful job that could be putting pressure on him? Do you think perhaps he has found someone else?

Is a difficult situation to deal with.

If it's just the sex being affected, maybe some quality time spent together to just relax and talk could open things up a bit? If he isn't being as sensitive, maybe he just can't be emotionally right now?

I do hope things work out for you.

Surrender.  Surrender.  But don't give yourself away . . . .

   ~ Cheap Trick ~

Sweetie, look him in the eye and tell him that you need more.  He cannot give you more unless you ask for what you want.  Be specific ~ men aren't always that astute about women in bed.  Tell him you feel you have lost that connection and that you miss it.  Don't make him feel bad about himslef, just let him know that he isn't putting in the effort that you need, and that you aren't satisfied with sex the way you used to be.  Age and the length of the marriage should have little impact.  If you want great sex, you have to work at it!!
