Disable "Windows Security" which enable to lock computer instead of running Task Manager when pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del

have windows xp with sp2. since i download a few updates, everytime my screen saver running, when i try to return to windows, i c the welcome screen thst prompt me with selecting the user. same happen when windows start.

i have one admin account with no password, which i set up. but now i have another one called ASP.net limited account, with no password. but i didn't made it.

so i unchacked the option of displaying the welcome screen inside the User account settings in the control panel.

but now, when i clicked Ctrl-Alt-Del i get the window that enables me to either lock the computer or run the task manager, instad of running the task manager.

i want not to have a welcome screen after windows startup/reset/coming back from screen save and no Windows Security with lock computer when i click Ctrl-Alt-Del, but the usuall Task manager.

I see.

The ASPNET user was created when you run Windows Update which added a component named ".NET Framework".

If you don't really know what .NET Framework and ASP.NET is and do not use it, you can safely disable ASPNET user. You can do that in the Control Panel.

This should return you back to the state in which your computer was before.

In any case, just for general knowledge, the REAL keys used to show the task manager are Ctrl-Shift-Esc and this will work in all version of Window including XP, 2000, 2003 and Vista.

Um well I'm having the same problem. But I don't seem to have the new user thing. It just has my admin account and the guest account.

Oracle takes over Primavera Software
