H1N1 "Swine Flu" is a naturally occurring virus that has been latent in our soil for centuries. There are so many of these viruses (and mutations) that there is no way to control them.
However, that does not dismiss biological warfare as a genuine threat: Tom Daschle and several others received letters containing weaponized anthrax. It closed down his entire building and opened an unsettling reality: Al Qaeda had developed biological agents -- and would use them.
Biological and chemical warfare are as old as warfare itself, and that includes terror weapons. The chief producers were: Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Iran, Germany, and Iraq. America had no choice but to develop stockpiles of these weapons as a deterrent to a repeat of their use as in WWI.
America has destroyed virtually all our biological and chemical munitions. We have also bought up virtually all the Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological stockpiles of the former Soviet Union and China -- to destroy them.
Communists hope to stage a hostile coup d'etat in America and are just mean spitited enough to resume production of these horrors if they somehow gain control. Their track record for brutality and duplicity makes them less than popular, except with brainwashed idiots who spread Communist malice and lies as though there was something to recommend the practice.
Contrary to leftist dogma and hate games, the world is a much safer place because of us. Even so, Sherman was correct about deterrence: the only way to prevent the use of a weapon is to have more of that weapon to use in retaliation.
Only that has stopped nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare. Wake up, people. Those are the facts of life.
Note also that America ia unique in the world that all our officers and military men operate under the Posse Comitatus Act: the Act forbids the use of military forces to implement or enforce law except in time of war. Although all other Chief Executives were clearly and well aware of Posse Comitatus, it would appear that our ignorant new President had to be informed of it.
