A quick question about carbs. I'm currently trying to lose some weight and tone up. I'm after well defined abs.

Anyway i heard that eating carbs in the evening is a bad idea. But quite often i don't get time to eat a proper meal in the afternoon, due to my shift work. What should i do? Are carbs in the evening (ie 6 o'clock) that bad? I'm not sure i could ever cope without bread and my whole wheat pasta.

Carbs are a good energy source and either are burned off, or stored as fat. If you eat carbs in the late afternoon hrs and in to the night, Then the carbs are most likely to be stored as fat.

A simple formula that many Super-models follow is to not consume carbs past noon. If you are interested inreading a few good articles about carbs an fats then go here and scroll down to the old school methods of weight loss .

Drink sufficient water, exercise, and not mixing carbs with fats are very good rules to follow. And not eating carbs past noon is even a good add on for these.

Be very careful. do not go on a no carb diet. A complete no Carb diet can cause a kidney stone, which is very painful. I eliminate bread and heavy bakery goods from my diet and walk 40 minutes perday on treadmill or outdoors. A brisk walk .

However I make sure I have some small helping of carbs like peanuts or green beans everyday.. If you excerise and stop eating Bread alone you will loose weight.
