RE: Diabetes

Especially with kids, and especially in diabetes 1, there might be a need to monitor glucose levels even at night.

There are several products in the market that are worth looking at.

In my day job I write about Blood Pressure Treatment and treat those who suffer from blood pressure problems. Low blood pressure is a particular interest and I'm often asked about how to lower cholesterol levels

I also have a special interest in the problem of feeling Tired All the Time and in those who suffer from chronic fatigue or lethargy.

My work with footballers and athletes leads to a focus on Painful Shoulder conditions and on the problems associated with frozen shoulder or whiplash injury

When not working I daydream about my next amazing european vacation trip  My favorite European cities include Paris and Barcelona and my next blog project will be to write about the best way to spend a night in Paris and how to find an apartment in Barcelona.

Good answer from photokim

In general terms once an older child or an adult has achieved stable blood sugar control, whether by diet, tablets or insulin - there is no need to monitor during the night.

The only exception might be if someone was having symptoms at night suggestive of the blood sugar being too low.

No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world.

RE: Diabetes

If your blood sugar is in good control, there is usually no need to check during the middle of the night. Occasionally, my doctor wants me to check at 3:00 AM if I made changes to my insulin routine, but this an extremely rare situation. One of the newest products available for people using insulin pumps by Minimed (like me) is their Continuous Glucose Monitoring System. This will check a persons blood sugars automatically. I use their pump but not the monitoring system. Their agent in Israel is Agentek 03-649-3111.
