Diabetes and Weight Loss

Can diabetes really be cured after weight loss, or is this just another conspiracy to make people feel bad because they're overweight?

It seems a little strange that all problems in the world can be solved by a diet.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
No, diabetes can NOT be cured by diet.  Having diabetes means that the body (pancre'as) is not producing sufficient amounts of insulin (and that is irreversaible).
Best regards,

Depends upon the type of Diabetes you have.  If you have adult onset type 2 it usually goes away with weight loss.

My mom was diabetic but never on Insulin. While she still had it we modified her diet to keep it under control.  Then there was a point where she had lost a LOT of weight - the hospital even said "Don't even mention Diabetes with her, there is no longer a blood sugar problem."

That was my experience, hope it helps.

Great information on health, diet, and exercise: www.mattmetzgar.com

Diabetes can be cured by the proper diet, which will also lead to weight loss.  The only conspiracy is that there are huge amounts of money to be made from treating diabetes through pharmaceutical means.  There is no big money to be made from just telling people to eat better.

This article shows how a medical doctor treats her diabetic patients with diet: link

Also, this site has great information about eating better: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/

Type 2 diabetes can be greatly better to control by losing weight, and many people see the disease nearly disappear.  But type 1 is not curable by weight loss, but it is much easier to manage.
