Details on canning potato soup?

Can potato soup be canned, if so, how do you do it? I have just started canning and am not sure how to go about canning soup in the jar. I know about leaving the milk and butter out but how would you do the rest? Cook it all the way and then do your jars in the canner for how many minutes? Sorry, I am not getting it. ABC's pleaseEmbarassed I need a master canners help.
