Edgar Martinez : Over his 18-year career, this Mariners batting legend has been selected for the All-Star team seven times. He has five Silver Slugger Awards to his name and is the only DH ever to have won a batting title. Martinez is also in a select group of only seven MLB players ever: 300 home runs, 500 doubles, a batting average higher than .300, an on-base percentage over .400 and a slugging percentage higher than .500.
David Ortiz : Big Papi's career took off when he joined the Boston Red Sox in 2004. Since then, he has been selected for the All-Star team five times and has received the Silver Slugger Award four times. Perhaps his biggest achievement came in 2006, though, when he led the AL in home runs, runs batted in and bases on balls. He also has two World Series wins (2004, 2007) under his belt.
Frank Thomas : Known as "The Big Hurt," Frank Thomas currently leads the MLB with the most home runs by a designated hitter and is part of the very exclusive 500 home run club. Other than all his home run accolades, Thomas won back-to-back AL Most Valuable Player awards in 1993 and 1994 and ranks fourth in the history of the MLB in sacrifice flies, with 121.
