Courtney,
Each one of us has to take steps to take care of our body, mind, and soul. Often when we become depressed it's a sign that our mind or our bodies are telling us that something is not quite right. The first choice I'd make is to share your thoughts with people you might be able to trust but that most certainly have shown that they care about you deeply (just as you are). Try to choose someone who is mature; a minister, your parents, or even a teacher. Let them know how you feel immediately. Don't let these depressed signals continue alone. Share with someone before these signals get wrongfully acted out.
As far as your soul goes. Remember, all people will eventually fail you. Even I have failed others at times. My parents made mistakes. My wife, kids, family, friends, and former loves..have at one time or the other fail you. It's what the Human condition is; we are just not perfect. Might I suggest someone who is. He will never fail you, and He accepts You for who you are. He doesn't promise that everthing in this life will be perfect; but somehow it doesn't really matter once you have Him.
There is a choice, however, and it's a very fair trade. Instead of letting our own sometimes fickle hearts rule our lives...we let Him decide. (He's gonna make better choices for us than we would, anyways!) You ask Jesus to reveal himself to you in the most truest and deeply felt fashion. Then ask Him to come into your life.
Believe me, I have a real and practical experience from this. My wife was deeply depresed for many years. Our first four years of marriage was awfully tough. She even tried to commit suicide. I tried to help her in so many ways; and all was unsuccessful. Except for one. Jesus. Fifteen years later we are still married, and although she is disabled (from her attempt); we are living happier in the Lord than when we were not. We thank Him and let Him dictate our lives. It's exciting to see how much He really lives and cares for us. Anyways I probably went too far...meanwhile I'll pray for you to find out the truth. This world decieves us. Stanimal
