They reveal the use of AJAX [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AJAZ ] JSON [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JSON ] REST [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/REST ]... and other technologies, as well as the fact that both sites feature APIs, the documentation of which is available online as well....
As Del.icio.us has been acquired by Yahoo!, the particular technologies employed, especially on the server side, may be guarded a bit more closely going forward.
