Republicans tend to believe that people don't need hand outs, they need hand ups.  They believe in personal responsibility.

Democrats believe that they are smart and the public is stupid.  They believe it is their job to take from those who earn to give to the lazy.

If you live outside of the US, there does not appear to be much.  Bill Hicks summed it up thus:

Wink  Headphones: you can listen to music you like or keep other noise out.

democrats are more for the less fortunate. republicans are more for the rich. evidently their thinking is that if they help them more they will create more jobs for the less fortunate.

The real difference I see between the two are that Dem's are for gay rights and abortion and the repub's aren't.  Most blacks are dem's but the repub's have passed more bills for equal rights than any other party.  Yes, the dem's are for the small person but they raise taxes.  The repub's are for the small person too but they go about it in a different way.  Both are good parties but may I suggest going independent?  This way you can vote how you want and for who you want without getting involved in either party.

This is a crash course in the difference between Republicans and Democrats that NO ONE else will tell you. It is ALL about CONTROL. Both parties want it, but they want to control different things.

The Democrats want to control your money. They don't care about what you do with your ethics, or religion, or values. They think that everyone should pay a lot of money to the government and the government should control the money and decide how best to use it, and everyone should do what makes them feel good.

The Republicans want to control your actions. They think that people should control their own money, and the government should stay out of it, but that everyone should be held to a certain moral or ethical standard.

The Democrats method brings us Communism. The Republicans method brings us slavery.

The Democrats method makes slaves out of those who work, the Republicans method puts too much power in the hands of the greedy.

Don't kid yourself, there are no virgins in the White House. Everyone wants control.

The Democrats try to get it by appealing to those who have less or who don't want to work and promising them government money. (That's why a lot of poor minorities and young naive idealists are Democrats.)

The Republicans try to get it by letting the rich, powerful and holier-than-thou have their way. (That's why a lot of rich or religious or grumpy old people are Republicans)

Any comments?
