Decline in libido

We are 34 yrs old, been married for 11 years, have 2 children and have always had great sex. His libido over the past 3 or so years has declined and recently very rapidly. (I gave birth 2 months ago and during the pregnancy, I could not get enough sex - I wanted it all the time). I don't know what to attribute this decline to. He has a rare blood clotting disorder in which he has survived 2 strokes with no deficienies, DVTs, and seizures. He takes many meds for this and blood pressure and cholesterol. Could any of this be the reason?

Live simply, love generously, care deeply,

speak kindly, leave the rest to God.

Hi,

His loss of libido may be attributed to the combination of medications he's taking for his medical problems.  He needs to go back to his medical doctor and discuss this problem with him.  He may have to be referred to a urologist to help him allay his loss of libido.

There are also many things that contribute to this lack of libido:

1. his increasing responsibilities, you have 3 children now

2.  may be worried about finances, now that you have 3 chidren to support

3.  stress at work

In the meantime, you can ask your husband  to pleasure you in other ways aside from intercourse by the use of vibrator and  oral sex.

You also need to see a marriage counselor and a sex therapist.

Take care.

Being a nurse and being married to a man who also takes MANY meds, I would guess that your husband's low libido is either as a side effect of one or more of his meds OR he has some depression over his health condition! If you haven't discussed this with him, you might want to in a quiet setting (not the bedroom) but possibly over dinner out (without the kids).  If you can approach working on a solution to this problem as a team then it might help him to not become defensive. Guys have a difficult time with talking about/experiencing a low libido! Good luck!

Yes , be careful and go easy so he does not get defensive .  This needs to be addressed with his DR , also think it is the medications he's on . Good Luck and Yes turn to God for help as well .
