Hi, Angela,

Sorry to be so late in answering your question.  I was a little "under the weather."

I'm sure that many things happened on this date.  A few of them include:

This date marked the first year of a "national" Christmas tree in Washington, D.C.  See http://www.nps.gov/whho/historyculture/1923-national-christmas-tree.htm.

Another happening on this date is that the Health Department asked for laws forbidding the making of heroin.  See http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/history/e1920/asks_law_to_forbid_the_making_of.htm.

At http://www.brainyhistory.com/daysbirth/birth_december_25.html, you can search for "Today in History" and "Today's Birthdays."

And, last, here is a site where you can locate newspaper archives about events, purportedly, for the past 230 years.  See
http://www.newspaperarchive.com/KeywordLaunch.aspx?key=years&gclid=CN-u1POAy5YCFQsQagod9yI3wg.

Hope this helps.
