Get educated!

Debra Lafave violated probation

A judge decided yesterday that Debra Lafave, a former middle school English teacher and sex offender, violated her probation by having contact with an underage female co-worker at a restaurant where she worked, but it wasn't sufficient enough to put her back into jail.

Lafave pleaded guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious battery in November 2005. She could have faced up to 15 years in prison for a probation violation.

If the Court acknowledged Lafave violated her probation, why isn't she going to jail for 15 years? Do you think it has anything to do with how she looks?

It very well could, beauty in our society is highly valued and those with so called good looks often get away with more than those of average looks. The other factor being that she is female, may play a part in it also. It seems that female predators recieve lighter sentences than the males.

To me it doesn't seem right. Both are heinous crimes and should have equal consequences regardless of whether a male or female committed the crime.

I would think not. most judges take into account the reasons for the first conviction and than compair it to the probation violation. Most PV's just end up with county jail time.

Always look your best because you never know who you're going to meet.


I think it's really sad that she's not being punished because some poeple think she's pretty. It's just another one of those stories that makes you so angry!
