Debit Card in Thailand

I'm wondering about use of debit cards in Thailand (most probably I will not take any cash with me). I have got a Visa Electron debit card and I'm just not sure how popular and how widely it is accepted in Thailand. Is it accepted in all supermarkets and ATM's?

You will still need cash regardless of what. You can't possibly pay ur trip by card. Even their taxis, unlike Singapore, accept only cash.

where are you planning on traveling?

in Bangkok & the Islands you won't have a problem.

other places - cash is a good solution.

As everyone said there should be no problem in BKK and the Islands, what I suggest is that you always have an amount of 50$-100$ in Baht, you'll never now when you're gonna need it...

In Thailand you can draw Cash with VISA Electron almost anywhere.

Keep small amounts like 3000 Baht (approx 100 U.S.$) with you in bills.

Rest take from ATM s around the country, Wonderful place to be.
