Dear Conservatives and right-wing Christians,

1.  People should understand the theory of evolution whether they believe in it or not, just as they should understand socialism or segregation.  You neve know when something you are reading or watching will just not make sense unless you understand evolution, whether you believe it or not.

2.  A parable does not mean anything until it is interpreted, so how can you take it literally.  There are people who seriously try to take at least part of the Bible literally.  They have found hundreds of God's commandments, and try to live up to them all.  They are the Orthodox Jews.  The only Person who knows what the Bible means without interpretation is God.  Being finite and corrupt, we are not capable of this knowledge.  All our Bible knowledge is interpretation.  One of the Devil's favorite tricks is to convince two groups with differing interpretations that their group takes the Bible literally and the other group doesnt, and then sit back while they start killing each other.  It worked great in Yugoslavia.  

3.  Under a strict interpretation of the Constitution, corporations would not be persons with the same rights as real persons.  Whatever rights they had would not be inalienable but rather granted by us humans through legislation.  

4.  Being anti-abortion and wanting abortions to be illegal are two different things.  Prohibition did not stop drinking, but it did make it difficult to promote responsible use of alcohol.  As long as women can leave the country, making abortion illegal will not stop abortions.  And it is not the most effective way to reduce the number of abortions to a minimum.  So you can make it illegal, or you can make it happen less often, but not both.  

5.  Abstinance from getting pregnant and abstinace from sex are two different things.  Experience shows that teaching abstinance from sex gets you a lot of pregnancies, wheras teaching how to engage in sexual activities responsibly (without getting pregnant) does reduce pregnancies (and also abortions).  Does God want us to affirm strict rules that dont have good results in practice, or does He want us to produce the best results in a loving manner?       

6.  People used to feel that interracial marriages were unnatural and defiled the institution of marriage, and somehow diminished or dirtied their own marriages.  They felt that way very strongly, but they never could explain it, because they were wrong.  Gay marriage is the same sort of thing and produces the same strong reactions.

7.  Some people think God condemns anyone born too early or in the wrong part of the world (anywhere where it is in fact impossible to hear about the Gospel) to hell.  Since this is obviously unfair from any human understanding of fairness, we obviously have no idea what God's fairness (real fairness) is.  It could involve slavery, oppression of one group by another, insider trading, etc. 

8.  An all-powerful God can save anyone He pleases.  We should pray to Him to adopt a way of selecting people for salvation that does not automatically rule out anyone who has not heard the Gospel.  Instead we pray to Him and praise Him for saving Christians.  In God's eyes this is selfishness and will not go unpunished.

'  Our Founding Fathers and their ancestors had just escaped from exactly that sort of thing.  That is why they founded an officially secular country.  And God loves this simple and elegant solution which wards off the Devil's mischief.  Proof is that He has blessed this officially secular country with a vibrant religious life that is unmatched in any country that is officially Christian.  He does not want us to mess with our solution.

Ok,....I'm thinking Ur not wanten a "Scaled" Answer huh??? So in saving my "Fingers" Lets talk "Christianity first & clear Up som of the "Issues" shall we?

I believe in 1 God as a "Trinity/Triune" "not unlike a product U can buy called "3-in-1 Oil"!!! It contains 3 different Lubricants each with different Properties to get Many Jobs done but it comes out as 1 homogenous liquid for most needs. I compare God & Christ so most can understand. Christ is God, just "Different". We have been left the Holy Scripture & many other Historical Findings that we should Know Gods' Plan for the Human Race. Many things about God we (at this point) cannot understand, but we really don't need to either. This is meant to be as God wants Us to utilize "Faith" & "Love" with our "Freewill" to Know & Worship Him. We are here as part of the "Appeals Trial" of Satan in the "Angelic Conflict" which shows the Justice & Integrity of God & also speaks to a Heaven & Hell in which our Eternal Souls will reside depending upon our "Choice" to Believe in Christ or not! Sin is NOT an Issue, just Belief in Christ. When Christ "Left", He sent Us the "Holy Spirit" to help Us through life. Therefore a "Literal Translation" (will get U by) is NOT what God designed for Us even though Scripture is Infallible & Inerrant. I don't have a problem with "Eveloution" as it is a "Theory" that has never been proven. I Do have a "Problem" with it being Taught as "Fact" & "NO Teaching" of Scripture or even allowing a "Prayer Time". Conrerning "Gay Anything", it is Contrary to Gods' Word & is therefore WRONG in all Forms! As the Leader of any Country is an Individual, he has "Freewill" to be used in living his life but if "Bound by the Laws of the Land" he should follow them. Our Constitution was written be men who had the forethought to write it for the "Common Man" to Understand, not needing any "Politician" to "Interpert" it for Us no matter what they say!!! Lust has ruined many People & will continue to do so as MOST PEOPLE have NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE OR WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT!!! U will never find that "Right Person" Until U know these things!!! God will "Mold Us" into a "Right Person" once we Accept Christ, if we are meant to be Married!!! So many Marriages fail because People are so "Shallow, Undeveloped, Self Centered & Greedy" just to mention a FEW PROBLEMS that need to be Dealt with before one gets the notion to act upon their "Lust Pattern of Sin". It seldom works that way, but if people would just think with the right tool they would realize that God wants the Best for His Children & if they Allow Him, He will give them the Best Person Already Prepared for them when THEY are READY!!! I think there is truth and error in the answers posted but good fodder for healthy mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. Questions critical to all people are raised. I don't have much time today so will be brief (as much as I can be with such a series of question) and leave the between lines to your imagination, logic, and faith.

1.not teaching Evolution in the classroom - Teach it. along with Creationism. Evolution is just a theory to be taken on faith...much like creationism. Neither can be proved or disproved this side of heaven and judgment day. One grows by seeing both, or all, sides of an issue and making up one's own mind. I believe the truth prevails because of its essence...it is true! :)

2.Literal bible interpretation...ahhh...parables...need interpretation, therefore can't be taken literally. The Bible is a living message, so communicates in changing ways with the readers spiritual needs and intellectual capacity...literally! :)

3.Strict interpretation of the constitution- see 2 above.  Our founders formed our nation as a religion based system with protections against governmental restriction of religious faith or practice as long as it did not infringe on the rights of others with different religious beliefs..."Freedom of Speech" and "Freedom to Gather" being key here.  "Strict interpretation" usually leads to wrong laws without room for mercy, forgiveness, love...or freedom...the Spirit and Intent (interpreted) of the law is critical to involve in any interpretation.

4.Having a President who is anti-abortion...is a reality. Personally I consider abortion a selfish form of irresponsible birth control and the end result of which is murder.  Do an interpretation of Psalm 139, especially around verses 13-18 and say fetae are not people in every sense of the word...for all the days of their lives are written in Gods Book of Life...which abortion precludes against God (in my personal opinion).

5.Abstinence until marriage...personal decision. The Bible addresses this, too. Personally I think it wise, expecially for young people.  Innocence of Love is lost with #2.   

6.Having a President who is anti-Gay marriage...Again...try Romans 1: 16-32. I would say he appears to be consistent with the transcribed word of God which states His opinion. HOWEVER, we must not judge peoples souls, but their behavior speaks for itself and will be judges by the only qualified Judge Romans 2 verses 1-11 and on. God is all powerful. No one tells Him what is or is not or true or not true.  

7.Belief in heaven...God believes it, most living humans have a concept of it, and I believe it.

8.The belief that Christ is God....the answer has eternal consequences. He said He was God. The Jews of his time said he could be. His birth, life, and death brought over 330 ancient prophetic statements to completion...each written by people spread across centuries and even millenia. He is the only person in history recorded by both religious and secular historians as having been seen after his confirmed death.  Roman soldiers knew how to  assure death and confirm. He was not asleep or in a stupor or coma...he was a bloody mass beaten and shredded to the bone by the bone, metal, and glass braided into the cat-of-nine-tails whip, not recongnizable as being human according to testimony of eye witnesses at the time.  He was raised to a new physical life by God the Father as a statement that He was in fact here in the form of God, His Son by a human woman, and if I believe that and am wrong, what have I lost?  If others deny that and are wrong, what will it cost them for Him to be God?  I am not a gambler, especially not with my soul at stake.

I am not amused by Qruinous' loaded and politically charged question.  He seems to think that anyone who is not an atheist hardliner is so stupid that he must be eliminated from society at all costs.

Life is cheap to atheists and leftists, which is why they take other people's lives absolutely without one tiny shred of conscience.  The whole reason they play the atheist denial game is because they are so bitter, cynical, hateful, negative, and immoral that they wantonly reject all wholesome moral values.

1. The Darwinian belief of Evolution should never be considered, but we cannot know exactly how God created the Earth. He could've drawn a circle in the air and made earth, He could've made two rocks and banged them together...we don't know. We know that in the Bible we are told that 1 day to God is 1,000 (i.e. a large amount of days) years to us. So we know that Genesis says 7 days, but that could be 7 thousand years to us...God is not bound by time.

2. I believe that literal interpretation of the Bible can be dangerous. There are parts of the Bible that are certainly literal, but we also must remember that the Bible was not written by one person at one time. It is numerous books spanning over a large period of centuries. Each book must be looked at in a way that we can understand:

A. Who is the author writing to? What was going on during that time?

B. What is the author trying to convey to the people?

C. What is God saying through this author?

It is important to remember that parts of the Bible are certainly to be taken literal 100 percent, but there are also parts of the Bible that are analogies only. For example "If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off". Mutilation of your body is against God as our bodies are temples of God, so this is not literal, but an analogy.

3. Strict interpretation of the Constitution goes right back to the same as the Bible. What we need to do is interpret the Constitution as the Founding Fathers did as they are the ones that wrote it.

4. That is very important to me. I'm very upset that 80% of the people who voted for Obama had no idea that he was one of the most pro-abortion people in the planet.

5. That is very important too. I abstained from sex until marriage.

6. Very important. The Sacrament of Marriage belongs to God and His Church, having a President who is trying to undermine that Sacrament is completely wrong.
