Dealing with a hearing impaired mate?

My girlfriend of 4-1/2 months is hearing impaired and is so frustrated with me that I don't know how to look at her or speak to her or hear her properly.  And thinks I should always run over to her if I'm saying something when she says something to me from a distance, etc., etc.  What do I do and how do I handle this?

A man (or woman) who won't die for something is not fit to live.

-Martin Luther King Jr.

You need to have a discussion with her about what her needs and expectations are.  Not everyone is able to have a relationship with someone who is hearing impared, and it says a lot for your personality to be with someone like this... but you need to be more patient, and to communicate well, to know the other's needs.  You have to know these things backwards and forwards, so that you won't get upset with one another.

To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.
