Dealing with bees

Is there anything I can apply to my eaves this winter that will prevent bees from trying to build nests all over my roof in the spring? I can deal with them in the cool of the night, but it's hard to see, and frankly I don't feel like climbing around on ladders in the dark. I'm in my wind-down mode by then anyway.

I have trouble with them building in other places too. I would love it if there were a long-lasting non-staining spray I could put up as spring draws near.

It's really hard to prevent nests.
You can try standard things like sealing any holes in your siding.
Or maybe you could get excessive and use the spray to kill nests and randomly spray it.... but I doubt that'll do it.
The best spray I've seen to kill nests is the one they sell the the Sherwin-Williams paint store. Keep a couple cans of that handy and inspect the outside of your house every week for any new nests.

Another method:For Bees you have just to clean the surfaces where they could nest in it with some materials like diesel that could give bad smell for more than ten days but you have to repeat it always maybe every ten or 15 days, but for other insects like wasps or yellow jackets you have to put some poisons with
some kind of beef meat every ten days in the spring and be careful not to let the pets eat from it, by this way you reduce the danger a lot from having them nest around your house, but the bumble bees they don't sting do not worry!Smile

We called our condo association manager and she called a pest control company.  They came out and sprayed a substance into and under the siding where the bees were building/living.  That was two days ago.  So far, so good.
