What do you think about the investigation of the Continental flight that crashed into a home in upstate New York? Share your comments here.

The wings on the plane were to narrow. This along with any ice buidup would not allow for any leeway for error.
I think they are doing everything humanly possible under a tremendous amount of pressure as professionals and as human beings. I don't like to fly at all and believe all flights should be cancelled when there is icing possibilities. So, everybody would be a day late....small penalty for being safe.
This video says it all. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2238323060735779946. This was pilot error, lack of education or lack of ability.
First I would like to extend my wishes to the families. Second Thank You to the FAA for your improved information system - keeping the American public updated on these types of accidents has greatly improved in the last couple of years.
Finally as a former pilot I am appaled that after reading the story to find that if in fact the FAA issued a recomendation with reguard to this aircraft, not to use autopilot, that Comair make sure that the crew not read the report. And that a experienced pliot would disreguard it. What could he have been thinking? That is why we have flight manuals and checklists in the cabin. I used them for the 20+ years I flew EVERY TIME never from memory.
Icing is always possible at high altitudes...we would never fly.
Auto Pilot should not be used unless the pilots are unable to fly the plane. Being lazy is not an option.
I believe we will never know the exact cause of this crash. Too much speculation and questions and sometimes not even eye witnesses can see the whole truth, as they are photographing and somewhat in shock and amazement of it all. Their perception becomes flawed through no fault of their own. Let's be patient with NTSB and hopefully shed some true light. I do know it's necessary to pray for those left behind to carry this enormous burden suddenly placed on them.........(A Rochesterian with a sad heart).
So far, it has shown that POSSIBLY other factors were involved other than iced up wings or tail fins. As more info comes out, I'm sure thy will have a definite answer as to the cause. No answer will make the victims families feel any better, that much we all know. I live on the opposite end of the runway they were to land on, and I've lived here for 20 years. Its a miracle that more people werent hurt or killed. The aircraft itself (supposedly) was less than a year old, so it couldnt have had that many flight hours. Regardless, say a prayer for all the victims, and certainly for the grieving families.
