Days 3 and 4 of Creation

I am seeking opinions as to Days 3 and 4 of Creation, as told in Genesis.  Genesis 1:9-13 refers to Day 3.  Genesis 1:14-19, to Day 4.  On Day 3, God made the earth and caused grass and herbs to grow.  Day 4 says that's when God made the sun and moon.

My question is three-fold:  1) Can grass, herbs, trees, etc., survive and thrive without sunlight?  Or, 2) did Moses accidentally switch his "paper" (stone tablets?) for Days 3 and 4 or perhaps they were switched by someone else as a prank or perhaps he dropped them on the floor (ground/earth) and mixed them up when placing back on his table?  I.E., did the "pages" somehow become shifted out of their original, intended order?  Or 3) should we believe that God can do anything, including growing plants without the benefit of sunlight?  (I know He can do anything, but did He do this?)

Thanking you in advance for your thoughtful replies.

I believe God did exactly as He said in that order. Of course we both believe he can do anything. Why God created grass, herb yeilding seed, and fruit tree first before the Sun, moon and stars, is not really revelant; He says and it is. If He wanted too He could have made the grass self sustaining forever without help from anything, etc, etc. The great thing is we know He created these things and why(for his pleasure). He has given us His Word and im so glad.

Genesis 1:1 - 1:5

What better place to start in God's Word than in Genesis, especially for the new student. The word Genesis means in the Greek, 'generation', 'creation'. The word Genesis is not originally the Hebrew title, but Bereshith instead, which is "in the beginning" , the first words of The Book. All Scripture is taken from the King James Authorized Version of 1611.
We're going to move slow, digging deep and hard in these first few Chapters, so stay with me, and check me out with your Strong's Concordance.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The Hebrew has 'eth' before heaven and earth, emphasizing each "the" article before both. This treatment makes a distinction between the state of the earth in Genesis 1:2. In other words, as we'll find out in the next verse, this creation of the heaven (heavens, plural in the Hebrew), and the earth, is the very first forming of the universe by God (Elohiym here in Hebrew). When God accomplished this, no one truly knows how long ago, but scientists can document that this old earth is literally thousands and thousands of years old. There is no disagreement here with God's Word.1

Gen 1:2   And the earth was without form , and void ; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

This verse speaks of a different condition of the earth than in Genesis 1:1. Stay with me, I'm going to document it. The word 'was' in Hebrew is 'hayah ', meaning "to become, to exist, or come to pass ". This word 'was ' is in italics in much of The Old Testament, as it was added by the King James translators, because there is no verb 'to be' in the Hebrew. (This is another subject for another time.) 2   So this word 'hayah' in the Hebrew should be interpreted as 'became' , i.e., past tense. The phrase 'without form' in the Hebrew is 'tohuw' , meaning to 'lie waste, a desolation, vain' (Strong's no.8414).  And the word 'void' is 'bohuw' in the Hebrew, meaning 'an undistinguishable ruin' .(Strong's no. 922).
In other words, the earth became a 'desolation', a 'ruin'. You'll find in Isaiah 45:18 that God said He did not create the earth "tohuw " (the Hebrew word tohuw appears there again as 'in vain ', meaning a waste, a desolation ). Well what does this mean? It means that something caused that 'desolate' condition upon the ancient earth.  God did not make it that way.  What could have caused the beautiful earth that God originally set up in the beginning to become a 'waste', a 'desolation'?  The Books of 2 Peter and Jeremiah give us more clues as to this state of ruin.  In 2 Peter 3, Peter makes a distinction between 'the world that then was' verses 'the heavens and earth which are now .' Let's turn to 2 Peter 3:5.

2 Pet 3:5   For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old , and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Peter is explaining that in the latter days scoffers at The Word would be saying: "It's not going to happen, Jesus isn't going to come, everything continues just as before," kind of like, "Ah yeah, every new millennium we get the same old bunch saying the end is near...".  But Peter wished for God's people not to be ignorant of The Word, and he's explaining that the first creation of the heavens and the earth (of old), were by The Word (Logos), that is to say through Christ (see John 1), and that the earth was 'standing' (sat in place) out of water and in water. This means that the earth then existed, it had already been created, as in Gen.1:1. I know that these verses are taught by many to mean the time of Noah's flood, but stay with me, for Peter is going to show us the difference, in the Greek.

2 Pet 3:6  Whereby the world that then was , being overflowed with water, perished :

This word 'world' is kosmos in the Greek, which does not mean soil like the earth, but an 'orderly arrangement' or order of things, i.e., the first creation, a time, an age that God referred to in Isaiah 45:18 (see Strong's no.2889). Well what is this word 'perished' ?  It is apollumi in the Greek, and means 'to destroy fully, a ruin' , roughly equal to the word tohuw in Hebrew (Strong's no.622). This is not speaking of Noah's flood, for apollumi means everything was destroyed, the earth literally wiped clean of all its inhabitants, no man, no birds, no Ark, nothing, a desolation. This Greek word apollumi was used all throughout the New Testament to also mean those who will be 'blotted' out in the eternity, in the lake of fire. The word Apollyon , which is another name for Satan written in Rev.9:11, is derived from the root of apollumi , 'to perish' , and furthermore, that's how we know that 'the son of perdition' as written in 2 Thess.2 is Satan himself, not Judas. (Strong's nos.623 & 622. Are you checking me out in a Strong's Concordance yet?). It was the rebellion of Satan during that first earth age that caused God to destroy that time. That's why one of Satan's nicknames (Apollyon ) is tied to 2 Peter 3:6, and 'the world that then was' .
The interpretation is this:  Genesis 1:1 is the first setting up of the universe in the beginning, the first earth age, the time of dinosaurs and fossil remains. This is when The Elohiym created everything, all souls included. Genesis 1:2 is the desolate condition caused by 'the overthrow', or rebellion of Satan against God. It is written in Ezekiel 28 that Satan (his symbolic name there is the King of Tyrus, and prince of Tyrus ), was originally 'perfect in his ways' before 'iniquity' was found in him. It also states that Satan was a covering cherub, and corrupted because of his beauty, and that he coveted the position of God's Throne. You'll find in Revelation 12:3-4 that a third of the stars (angels) followed him during that period of overthrow. This condition of ruin over the earth is what caused God to 'scrub' or destroy that first earth age, and end the original first state of all creation, on the earth.
The Truth is that God's Word must account for discoveries and anomalies dealing with prehistoric remains, fossils and dinosaur bones, ancient buried civilizations, mammoths found in Alaska with buttercups in their mouths, frozen instantly in time, etc., and God's Word does account for them. The discrepancy is in traditions and old folk tales handed down from generation to generation by the uneducated in God's Word. Am I being too harsh on those who keep handing down the same old false traditions? Not really, because our Father has revealed His Truth to us in His Letter. He accounts for all time. So try to understand that there was a previous earth age, even before the flood of Noah, when this whole earth was a paradise, the original state that God intended his creation to remain. In that verse of Isaiah 45:18, God said that He created the earth 'to be inhabited' . The myth that the eternity is going to be a brand new universe, living up in the clouds instead of on the earth, is not in The Word (God's dwelling place will still be on this earth in the eternity, although the 'height' of The New Jerusalem situated on earth will ascend up to heaven from earth in the form of a cube. See Ezekiel and Rev.21:16 for the dimensions). God is merely going to 'cleanse', or 'renew' this earth again, as He did after the time of Satan's rebellion. Let's turn to Jeremiah 4 to find out more about the destruction of that first earth age.

Jer 4:22  For My people is foolish, they have not known Me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

This fourth Chapter of Jeremiah is about God being angry with His children, because they were following all sorts of idols and abominations, instead of Him. He is saying that since His people don't search for Him in truth, etc., they thus have no knowledge of the Truth, for to know God's Truth, including that first earth age, is to want to do good. They don't even remember that first 'desolate' state of the earth of old times, and He's getting ready to give them a little reminding of that wasted condition that was a result of Satan's rebellion, to let them know that He's going to put this old earth through another 'trembling' again.
If you began reading this fourth Chapter of Jeremiah, and then get to these next few verses and feel a big subject change or shift just happened, that means it's time to really think about what our Father is trying to tell us.

Jer 4:23   I beheld the earth , and, lo, it was without form , and void ; and the heavens, and they had no light .

Here's the words 'without form' and 'void' again, the 'tohuw va bohuw' covered in Genesis 1:2!  So God is bringing into remembrance that time of Genesis 1:2, to them, and to you, if you have 'eyes to see'. That there was 'no light' means that Satan's rebellion had caused a state of utter darkness, spiritually. Consider this verse in Jer.13:16: "Give glory to the LORD your God, before He cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, He turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness. " You will find in Rev.6:8 and Hebrews 2:14, that another name for Satan, the devil, is 'Death', so this phrase 'the shadow of death' is referring to Satan, so again, remember that the earth's state of 'desolation' in that first earth age was due to Satan's mutiny against God.

Jer 4:24   I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly .

The Lord really shook the earth to end that first earth age.  Might this 'trembling' have caused the 16-21 degree tilt of the earth's axis that caused that instant arctic freeze, and the 90 mile error between the geographic and magnetic pole?  'All the hills moved lightly ' means the whole earth was affected, not just partly. Since God's Word is 'Perfect', it accounts for all natural phenomena that happened in the past history of this old earth, and for what is to come.
Some might be thinking these Scriptures are talking about the flood of Noah's time. Indeed God cleansed the earth from the filth on it with a flood during Noah's day, but not with a trembling that made all the hills move lightly. The latter part of Hebrews 12 gives a hint to a future time when God will bring another destruction upon this earth similar to the one of Genesis 1:2. Let's go to Hebrews 12 for a moment:

Heb 12:25    See that ye refuse not Him That speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him That spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him That speaketh from heaven:

26  Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven."
(KJV)

Paul is quoting this from Haggai 2:6, which also has parallel passages in Joel 3:16, Isaiah 13:13. It's about a yet future shaking of this earth at Christ's second coming (see Zech.14; Rev.16:18).

Heb 12:27   And this word, "Yet once more", signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made , that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28     Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
(KJV)

The event Paul is talking about in that Hebrews Scripture is about the future coming of the Day of The LORD, when Christ comes to rule on earth with a rod of iron. The "Yet once more" phrase reveals there was another previous shaking of this earth, and it was on the same level of destruction that is to occur at Christ's future second coming. That did not happen in Noah's time. It happened before, when Satan fell from Heaven in rebellion against God and drew one-third of the angels into rebellion with him. That is the connection our Heavenly Father is also making with these Jeremiah 4:23-28 verses.

Jer 4:25    I beheld, and, lo, there was no man , and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

This verse is letting us know that man, and all creation that existed during that first earth age, was gone from the earth, even all the birds. No Noah's ark, no animals, absolutely nothing, thus this was an event that took place long before the days of Noah.

Jer 4:26  I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness , and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by His fierce anger .

All the cities of that first earth age were destroyed, and the 'fruitful place' was a 'wilderness' (desert). Again, this is not the flood of Noah's time, especially since the previous verse tells us that 'there was no man ', i.e., not even Noah's ark. Possibly the reason why it is difficult for most people to understand the existence of cities and people living on the earth, in spiritual bodies and not flesh, during the first earth age, is due to tradition, and the fact that many people can't think in the spiritual.  Many traditions teach in a way that heaven in God's eternity is not upon this earth, when The Word says that it is.
Many would also teach that God's people are just going to 'fly away' into the sky, when that word 'air' in I Thess.4:17 should be properly translated 'spirit' , the 'breath' , i.e., the spiritual body, which represents the casting off of this flesh age, and the destruction of all works by man on this earth when Christ returns for the second coming. (Take a Strong's Concordance and translate that word 'air' in I Thess.4:17 for yourself, then read Gen.2:7 again.) The translation of 'air' to 'spirit' , or 'breath of life' , is supported by Paul in I Corinthians 15 where he taught that on the "last trump" we shall all be changed into a spiritual body, casting off this flesh, as also written in 2 Peter 3:10, Psalms 97, and Nahum 1.
You'll find a more graphic version of the casting off of the flesh body of the deceived in Zechariah 14. There are many more Old Testament references to The Lord's Day when this 'change' takes place. They all point to the destruction of this world (second earth age) by 'fire', for you'll find in Hebrews 12 that God is a 'consuming fire '. Satan's little propaganda department works overtime in trying to teach that this day of destruction by fire is caused by all other means except what is written. God is The One Who will do it, and not man. If you remember in the Book of Daniel how Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were protected by The Lord in that furnace, heated seven times hotter (spiritual completion) than necessary, then don't worry if you're in Christ, for we shall not be harmed. Their garments didn't even smell of smoke when they came out of that hot furnace.
Don't confuse God's 'consuming fire' with the 'lake of fire' . The 'lake of fire' happens at the end of God's Millennium, the thousand year reign of Christ and His elect on earth that begins when Christ returns for the second Advent. Those who hear The Word then, without any distraction or obstruction, and still choose to follow Satan instead of our Father, will be cast into that 'lake of fire' along with the 'dragon', or Satan.(see Rev.20 - 22). Let's continue back in Genesis 1.

Back to Gen.1:2, and let's cover the last part of that verse:

Gen 1:2   And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters .

This word 'Spirit' is 'ruwach' in Hebrew, and It means 'wind, by resemblance breath' (Strong's no. 7307). This is when God's Spirit 'spoke', starting the cleansing of that state of 'ruin' and began this earth age we are now in. This act is also referred to in John 3:3-8, Romans 8. You'll also see this 'ruwach' translated as the 'four winds' in several places in the King James Version.
I call your attention to this phrase "the face of the waters" . The word 'face ' is simply the Hebrew word 'paniym ' meaning 'in the presence of' (Strong's 6440). God's Spirit was before the presence of the waters. This is important, because you'll find there is no mention of God creating earth matter past Genesis 1:1. These "waters " were outstreched over the whole earth, covering all of it, and that's how God destroyed that time of old to end Satan's rebellion. Even at this verse, the earth is under all those "waters ".

Gen. 1:3  And God said, "Let there be light:" and there was light.

Gen. 1:4  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness .

Gen. 1:5  And God called the light Day , and the darkness He called Night . And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Many of you may not understand this, but, this 'light' and 'darkness' here, is not the dividing of a 24 hour period that we all know in this life. You'll notice that God didn't create the separation between earth 'day' and 'night' yet, that is to say, the star called our 'sun' and the planet that orbits the earth called the 'moon', until Gen.1:14. We're still here in Gen.1:5 on the first 'day' or God's period of time (to God, a 'day' is equal to...see 2 Peter 3:8).   Notice that 'Day' and 'Night' are in capitals. Here in verse 5, 'Day' and 'Night ' should be understood as separations between 'good' and 'evil', i.e., Christ and Satan, for Christ is that Light, and Satan is that 'darkness' . Well how can this be, you may ask?  Turn with me to Isaiah 60:19:

Isa 60:19   The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

Isa 60:20   Thy sun shall no more go down;  neither shall thy moon withdraw itself:  for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

Hey, this hasn't happened yet friend!  It's too bad that many refuse to believe that there will be no 'sun' or 'moon' in the LORD's eternity. I guess God's Word is just too 'far out' for them. This is mentioned again in Rev.21 and 22. The eternity, or last earth age will be the 'putting back' of the original state which God made His creation, therefore, in that first earth age, there was no 'sun' or 'moon', because God was that 'Light'. There was no 'darkness' , literally! Try to imagine dividing 'time' when you don't have a sun or moon, no sunlight, no moonlight, only 'Light'. You have to think with your spiritual mind to understand this. You can go on a long philosophical trip to nowhere thinking about this with the 'flesh' mind. The flesh can't comprehend it. That's why our Father hid this message about the three earth ages from those who don't care to work in our Father's Word. Chances are, unless you dig for yourselves in The Word, checking me out, you won't get It either. Nor will you get it just by asking someone else.

Genesis 1:6 - 1:25

In the last study of Genesis, we learned that the first creation of the heavens and the earth was very ancient, a time that no one can know for certain in years, while in the flesh. Scientists can definitely document that this earth is much older than 6000 years. In this, there is no disagreement with God's Word in Genesis.
God's People should not feel as though we are giving sway to all of science's theories by admitting this geological fact. Our Father has left us many archeological artifacts in which to discover that time 'of old'. Just the word dinosaurs should bring to the mind an idea of how old this earth is. We also discovered in the last study that God had not created our solar system's 'sun' or 'moon' on that first 'day', yet there was a separation between 'Day' and 'Night' (Gen.1:5). We also learned that God is that 'Light' wherein there is no darkness, the 'darkness' that Satan created through rebellion against our Father. It is safe to say that this separation between 'Day' and 'Night' in Gen.1:5 symbolizes the very first dividing of heaven into two distinct abodes, a dwelling referred to by our Lord and Savior in Luke 16 with the story of Lazarus and the 'rich man'. One side is God's Holy dwelling called 'Paradise' or 'Eden', and across 'a great gulf fixed ' is the dwelling of Satan and those who followed him during the rebellion. Many are mis-taught that our Lord's teaching about Lazarus in Luke 16 is a 'parable'. It is not, as Matthew 25:30-34 makes it plain that this separation between His 'sheep' on the 'right hand', and the 'goats on the left' will continue through His Millennium Reign on earth. One third of God's children, as stated in Rev.12 followed Lucifer in that first rebellion, who was originally one of the covering cherubs of the Mercy Seat (Ezekiel 28).
Jesus also promised to those who overcome, (that is, those who are not deceived by Satan when he appears upon this earth in the near future), to eat from 'the Tree of Life' 'in the midst of the Paradise of God' in Rev.2:7, and Paul the Apostle's spirit was caught up to this 'Paradise' while in the flesh as written in II Cor.12:4. We will soon discover in this book of Genesis that this 'Paradise' was on earth at one time, and that is where God dwelt, before the sin of Adam and Eve as written in Gen.2 and 3. God will dwell with man again in 'Paradise', upon a 'renewed' earth in the future eternity (Rev.21). Until that establishing, those in Christ who put off this flesh body before Jesus returns, their 'spirit' goes to God's 'Paradise', which is now in heaven (See Eccl.12:7 and Luke 23:43 and Luke 16).
We found also, in the Hebrew text using a Strong's Concordance, that Gen.1:2 refers to the destruction of a 'first earth age', as also alluded to in Jeremiah 4 in the Hebrew manuscripts. In other words, Gen.1:1 is the time of the first creation of the 'heavens' and the earth, but in Gen.1:2, the very next verse, with 'tohuw va bohuw ' in the Hebrew, the earth became an 'undistinguishable ruin' . The 'overthrow' by Satan caused this condition of 'ruin' upon the earth in that first earth age. The earth hadn't gone anywhere, it was established then as it is now, but today, it is becoming an 'undistinguishable ruin' again. We had just finished Gen.1:5, and the 'first day' of God restoring this earth anew. We ask our Father to bless us in His Word in Christ's Name, Amen.

Gen 1:6 And God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters , and let it divide the waters from the waters ."

This word 'firmament ' in the Hebrew is 'raqiya ', meaning 'an expanse, the firmament, or visible arch of the sky' (Strong's no. 7549). This verse is God separating the waters that are upon the earth into two separate sections or realms, part of those "waters " being left upon the earth to form the seas, and the other part of those "waters " moved above the earth turned into water vapor, or our atmosphere surrounding this earth for today. Remember the point I made in the previous Genesis study about "the face of the waters" of Genesis 1:2. The whole earth was covered with those waters to end that time. The earth was created at Genesis 1:1, then it became 'tohuw va bohuw' (a waste and a ruin ), and God brought the drowning waters upon it to end Satan's rebellion, but the earth was still always there from its original first formation at Genesis 1:1. Now God is simply dividing those "waters " into two parts, and taking a portion of those "waters" up off the earth to form the sky and that will make the "dry land" of the earth underneath to appear, or reappear.
Notice I'm being very specific about these "waters ". It's very important, because it helps us to understand Revelation 21:1 for the future third Heaven earth age, for there will be "no more sea " on earth in the Eternity.

Gen 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament : and it was so.

First the stated plan in Gen.1:6, and now the act of dividing the 'waters ' already upon the surface of the earth. Notice the word 'And ' begins each of these deliberate acts by God. This is a 'figure' which allows us to understand the sacredness of our Father's intentions in these acts of preparing this old earth for the second earth age (the age that is now).

Gen 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

This word 'Heaven ' is 'shamayim ' in the Hebrew and it means 'lofty, the sky, the universe and its celestial bodies' (Strong's no. 8064). It's also translated in the King James in places for 'astrologer', and of course it also symbolizes 'the Abode of God'. This Hebrew word is also where 'Shaman' comes from, used of a so-called mystic holy man, star gazer, etc. (See my letter 'God's Time' in the Archive if you want to know what God thinks of the 'Shaman'. The 'Abode of God' is where the Shaman wishes to penetrate of his own will while in the flesh).
The earth 'sun' and 'moon' have not been "created" yet at this verse. That happens in Gen.1:14, so this phrase "...the evening and the morning were the second day" is for our flesh understanding of time, not God's. You'll find in 2 Peter 3:8 and in Psalms 90:4, that to God, a 'day' is as a thousand years to us. So you might say that these particular 'days' here in Genesis are each one thousand years of man's time, which is doing a little common sense speculating. That idea doesn't interfere with His Plan, so please, don't get too excited and take it too literal. God can make 'time' whatever increment He wishes (remember Joshua 10:12?).

Gen 1:9 And God said, "Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: " and it was so.

Very, very important verse here; don't skip over it, for this verse links to 2 Peter 3:5. God is still talking about the dividing of the waters overspread upon the 'whole' earth to create today's earth atmosphere and the earth's oceans. The second 'day', which we just covered, ended with the whole earth being covered with water, and an atmosphere of water above the earth being formed from part of the "waters ". The 'firmament ' above is called our sky and clouds. At this verse, we begin the 'third day', and what is taking place? God is gathering the remaining 'waters ' which are remaining on the earth, and He is moving them here and there in order to make the 'dry land' appear (that is, 'appear again'), or in other words, the earth was already there underneath all that water, along with buried cities where man dwelt upon this earth in that first age between Gen.1:1 and Gen.1:2.
And by the way, this word for "appear " in the Hebrew is ra'ah , which does not mean to make or create, it definitely means for something to appear, or to see and be visible (Strong's no.7200). That means the phrase "and let the dry land appear" was not an act of creating the land or earth, for the earth was already there under those waters.
Note the word 'place ' in this verse. This is where we link to 2 Peter 3:5. This word 'place ' in the Hebrew is 'maqowrn ', meaning 'a standing' or 'a spot' (Strong's no. 4725). Now let's turn to 2 Peter 3:5 and read it again:

2 Pet 3:5    For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water :

This is the state of the earth here in Gen.1:9 that Peter was talking about; the earth 'standing out of the water and in the water' , meaning the movement of a portion of the waters to locations above the earth (our atmosphere), and upon the earth, making the 'dry land' to appear, forming the seas and oceans of today's world. There is no literal 'creating' of soil out of nothing in this verse of Gen.1:9, for God had already created this earth in Gen.1:1. God had only to speak (The Word), and it was done ('it was so' ).

Gen 1:10  And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called He Seas: and God saw that it was good.

Here we have the product of 'gathering the waters' over the earth to make the dry land (erets in the Hebrew) appear.
(It would be nice if I had a link right here to information on the stone roads [some say Roman, but I doubt it], found deep underwater off the Azores many years ago. How deep is the Mariana's Trench in the Pacific?)
God spoke and it was done, and it was 'good '; that's always the product of our Father's actions, 'good ', never evil which properly translated in the Old Testament is 'calamity ' where He causes it for disciplining His children. You might wonder, was the destruction by God of that first earth age by water 'evil'? No, since Satan was the one who caused it; God had to overflow that age with water upon the whole earth 'cleansing' it in order to re-establish this old earth, and prepare it for this second earth age of now. For us, His children He did this, He reinstituted order so that each could 'return' unto Him. Only those who made their definite choice to rebel against Him in that first earth age are already destined to 'perish' (Satan and those of Jude 1:6).
I realize it's very difficult for many to grasp this idea of a prior earth age, mainly because of the dependence upon the world of the flesh, and the flesh understanding that goes along with it. However, like it or not, God's Word describes a previous earth age, an age long before the time of Noah. Many people seem to think that when a new child is born, that child's 'soul' is then created to go into that new flesh body, but God's Word refers to the pre-existence of the 'soul' (see Jeremiah 1; Romans 8:29-30, 9 concerning Jacob and Esau; Romans 11; 1 Peter 1:2; Rev.13:8). Those 'wrapped up' in the flesh even have a hard time believing that the 'soul' leaves this old flesh body upon death, and returns back to The Father (Eccl.12:7). They would rather believe that their relatives are waiting it out somewhere for their old flesh body to rise from the casket when Christ returns. Holding to that idea is an insult to Christ, for Jesus became angry at this 'flesh reasoning' when He went to raise Lazarus in John 11. (Because of their lack of faith in the Power of God, Jesus tarried purposefully from arriving too early in order to perform the raising of Lazarus, because one of the traditions held by the religious community of that day, was that the spirit of the dead person roamed for four days, and if it was not able to return into the body within that time limit, it then left for good and could not return. Note what Mary stated in John 11:32, and translate the word 'groaned' in John 11:33 using your Strong's. Our Lord performed those miracles during His Mission as Savior to show us His Power as Immanuel, "God with us", fulfilling His prophesied coming as Messiah. None have been raised up out of their casket today that I know of, because their spirit is now in Heaven).

Gen 1:11  And God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth:" and it was so.

Again, this is not the first formation of the earth, but the 'putting back' of the 'grass ', 'seed ', and 'tree yielding fruit ' upon a destroyed earth, by a flood (Not Noah's flood). The evidence of this can be found in comparing the different fossil records, such as the putrefied forest with later specie of trees, dinosaur fossils, etc.
Note the phrase 'upon the earth' in this verse? We still haven't found in these verses of Genesis so far where God created earth matter past Gen.1:1.

Gen 1:12   And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Gen 1:13   And the evening and the morning were the third day.

God 'spoke' His Word, and it was done. But remember, a day to our Father is as a thousand years to us. This ends the 'third day' of the 'renewing', and the start of the second earth age, the earth age that is now.

Gen 1:14   And God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15    And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth:" and it was so.

Finally, we now have the forming of our 'sun' and 'moon' to give light upon the earth. So what was dividing 'day', such as 'the morning and evening were' the first, second, third days of the previous verses? This idea requires leaving your 'flesh mind' 'outside the door' in order to get anywhere near the Truth of this message of no sun, yet there was Light (our Father). See my previous Letter on this idea in Gen.1:5.
These 'signs ' are the Zodiac; not Horoscopes, etc., that's man's twist. An interesting work to read on these 'lights in the firmament' is E.W. Bullinger's The Witness of the Stars .1

Gen 1:16   And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also.
17    And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18    And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19    And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

The 'greater light' of course, is our sun, and the 'lesser light' , the moon. Just as in heaven, also upon the earth, as there was and is a division in Heaven between 'Day' (Christ) and 'Night' (Satan), we have these divisions in the physical also. God's people are 'children of the light' (John 12; Ephesians 5; 1 Thess.5), so prophecy given in days according to the solar calendar apply to the 'children of light', i.e. God's people, and prophecy given in months apply to the 'children of darkness', i.e. Satan's offspring.

Gen 1:20   And God said, "Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven."
21    And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22    And God blessed them , saying, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth."
23    And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

Science teaches that humans evolved from this 'water', from the protozoa organism. This may be true of these creatures God is speaking of here in this verse, but for others, such as 'man', God tells us a different version. It seems that evolutionists like to think that since aquatic life has some similar features (tepods) to land animals, that these appendages apply to man also. They are constantly trying to find more links in fossil records to prove their somewhat 'shallow' conclusion that man, and even all animals evolved out of water life.
The perfect human arch footprint inside a dinosaur footprint, both preserved in stone together, and dated from 10 - 50 million years ago, located in Glenrose, Tx., is a stumbling to them. Of course, most of them simply 'choose' not to believe its authenticity, and others would attempt to discredit it because it doesn't fit their 'theory' of the evolution of humans. Humans supposedly did not exist during the age of dinosaurs, but our Father's Word alludes to the idea of man's existence then, in spiritual angelic bodies, and the fossil record at Glenrose, Tx. shows this to be probable.
Notice that every creature is made 'after their kind ', pointing 'each' to a specific genealogy or specie. One of the reasons why many wish to prove human 'evolution' verses 'creation', is to allow our so-called modern civilized world to appear to have more of the Truth as it continues down the path of knowledge, in the sense of always progressing. The reason they attempt  to disprove 'creationism' is for the purpose of treating the 'idea' of a Godhead as folklore based on myth. This would mean bowing down all spiritual belief for the sake of science, so that we would become more like animals, thriving solely based upon instinct and the primordial brainpower of an ape. This then, would justify their theories that the universe 'evolved', instead of being created. What fallacy , for if this were true, then why can scientists discover from the study of Anthropology ancient living behaviors that are still extant today, and emotional patterns such as 'murder' linked to ancient times, that still exist today? Even the ancient Egyptians treated cancer with surgery, and the basis of the science of metallurgy originated from them. Truly, as written, "There is no new thing under the sun "(Eccl.1:9). For those who refuse to believe that The God of the Hebrews exists, they can always find enough 'partial' evidence to cast doubt in the minds of those who are unlearned in our Father's Word.

Gen.1:24  And God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind:" and it was so.
Gen.1:25  And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Notice each 'creature ' is created 'after his kind ' in these verses. Either you believe it, or you don't. One thing to consider though; is there any half and half creatures, crosses of evolution between species walking around today? I'm not talking about creatures that develop small changes to adapt to the environment , but something like, a 'reptile bird', etc.
Let's cover one more Scripture about that first earth age, a time when our Heavenly Father created a Perfect earth. Let's turn to Romans 8 where the apostle Paul was telling us some differences between that time of old, this time today, and for a time in God's future glorious Eternity:

Rom 8:17   And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
18   For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

We are "heirs of God" and "joint-heirs with Christ" , if we remain in the Faith of believing on Him through His Son, as first delivered by His prophets and Apostles in His Word. And because of that Faith we will be "glorified together" . This "present time" Paul speaks of is this second earth age of today, a time our spirit must suffer in this flesh. But the way things are today are not worthy to be compared to the future Glory of God's Kingdom on earth. Part of that future glory will be revealed in us then. That's not simply a spiritual Message only; there is reality behind it, and it involves real manifestations upon a future earth. Paul has set the subject of the next verses with that idea. It's important to keep that in mind for what follows.

Rom 8:19    For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

The Greek word for "creature " is important to grasping Paul's meaning here and in the next verses. In the Greek that word "creature " is 'ktsis ' and it means 'original formation' (Strong's no. 2937). It means the 'original formation' of God's creation per this subject Paul is covering. Its Greek root 'ktizo ' is related to the act of creating and its creator; in this sense  meaning God The Creator of all things. Paul is speaking of the first creating of all things by our LORD. The "creature ", or 'original formation' of all things, also awaits the future time of God's Eternity with the manifesting of the sons of God. That means God's creation also waits for the future new heavens and a new earth time.
Some might say at this point, "Well, what does that have to do with the idea of a first earth age?" Hold on, Paul's getting ready to show us in the next verses.

Rom 8:20    For the creature was made subject to vanity , not willingly, but by reason of Him Who hath subjected the same in hope,
21  Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Note what Paul says here, that the "creature " was "made subject to vanity" . Do you recall the 'tohuw va bohuw' Hebrew phrase of Genesis 1:2 translated to "without form, and void" ? We learned in the first Genesis study that tohuw va bohuw phrase really means the earth was in a waste and undistinguishable ruin state. That Hebrew word 'tohuw' was also translated to "in vain" where God said He did not create the earth "in vain", meaning in a state of vanity (Isaiah 45:18). This Greek word for "vanity " Paul used is in that same idea about the "creature ". But is that what Paul is really talking about here?
Paul made this very plain, because note he says the "creature" was placed in a state of vanity, or in vain, meaning in a state of "bondage of corruption" even. Not only does Paul say the creation was made subject to vanity, but also that it will one day be delivered from the state of corruption it's been in.
Here's where we have to ponder this for a while. Something that is put into subjection to corruption and bondage naturally was not always in that state. Even without going into the Greek one should understand that's what Paul is saying with this kind of comparison of conditions or states. He is speaking of the condition God's creation is in today with that vanity and bondage of corruption idea, because this time we are now in has been "kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment" like Peter said (2 Pet.3:7). Thus, the state God's creation is in today is one of decay, an imperfect condition, and not how God originally created it. If we think His creation today is beautiful, then wait, for we haven't seen anything yet when He will put it back to its original Perfect state.

Rom 8:22    For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Here we have it; the KJV translators finally translated that Greek word 'ktisis ' as "creation ". All of God's creation today for this second earth age groans and travails in pain for release from the state of bondage and corruption it's been in. Even "until now" , meaning to this day, the whole creation groans for that release by God to the new heavens and a new earth.

Rom 8:23   And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Not only does the whole creation groan, but we also within our spirit, as we await the future manifestation as the sons of God living on this earth put back to its original formation, and with our LORD living here on that earth with us (Rev.21). That part of the "adoption " and "redemption " Paul speaks of is about God's Plan of Salvation. God's Salvation Plan is not just a spiritual wanting without real substance, It will be a reality on a Perfect earth.

Rom 8:24    For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

In these things Paul described here, that is part of our hope in Salvation, for it is Promised by God for those who believe on Him through His Son. Today's state of corruption and bondage of the creation is not what we hope for, because we can see the state of vanity it's in today, along with how we have to live in this flesh time also. Paul is clear that our hope is in a future condition that we cannot see yet. And by this, he gives us to ponder when it was in that time 'of old' that God's whole creation was originally in a perfect state. With that, Paul is talking about a first earth age, a time before Satan rebelled which caused God to place this second earth age of today into a state of corruption.
The next Letter on Genesis is going to be an eye-opener for many, so stick around. We're going to learn that human females were created on God's 'sixth day' also.

Genesis 1:26 - 2:9

We should have a clearer picture as to the actions described by our Holy Father dealing with the 'putting back' of the glorified state of this earth, by the 'cleansing' of that first earth age that He accomplished in the beginning verses of Genesis Chapter 1. Again as before stated, that first earth age had become a state of 'ruin' due to Satan's rebellion against God. Thus, everything that followed Gen.1:1 is a 'new beginning' of this "...heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men." 2 Peter 3:7.
Well what about the flood of Noah? We learned in Jeremiah 4 that the destruction of that first earth age was a full cleansing, for there was no man, the birds had fled, etc. This was not the condition described with Noah's flood. Also, when we get to Genesis 6, the knowledge of God's Word taught in the Hebrew, and Massorah notes of the Hebrew manuscripts will give a clearer meaning than what is normally taught, as to God's purpose of the flood of Noah's time. If you're not aware of the significance of The Massorah , please read my Massorah page.
In the last Letter we also covered some of Peter's insight into the setting up of this second earth age of now, with 'the earth standing in the water and out of the water' (II Peter 3:5), taking that verse back to the Greek for a deeper meaning. Then God began the re-establishing of the 'seed' of herbs, etc., and the creation of the various animal species that are still present today. We now begin with Genesis 1:26 and we ask a word of wisdom from our Father, in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Gen 1:26    And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

This word 'Our ' is 'Elohiym ' in the Hebrew (Strong's 430), and is plural of 'elowahh ' (Strong's 433). Elohiym is also translated 'angels ' in Ps.8:5. Elohiym refers to God as dealing with the creation. In this verse, its meaning is God, or The Godhead including His Son Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit (see John 1, Hebrews 2, Ps.8, Proverbs 3, especially Proverbs 3:18). Since this 'elowahh ' is plural here, it means that all the angels, or 'sons of God ' were also present (I'm not saying the angels helped in the actual creating). This is one of the reasons why the King James translators would use the wording 'Let Us make... " and 'Our image '. The next question might be then, "Who are the 'sons of God'?" Let's turn to the Book of Job for some clues:

Job 1:6    Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

Job 1:7    And the LORD said unto Satan, "Whence comest thou?" Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, "From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it."

If you remember why God destroyed that first earth age as written, then you should realize that Satan and the fallen angels are these 'sons of God ' here in Job. These here in Job are not the only ones known by that name though. All those who come to Christ and believe on Him have the name 'sons of God ' also (see John 1:12; Romans 8:14; Phill.2:15; 1 John 3:1-2). How can this be? Because, as this verse of Gen.1:26 states, 'Our image ', 'Our likeness ', for all of God's children were made in His image. This is why Jesus would say in John 14:9 that if you have seen The Son, you've seen The Father, for Christ was made in the 'likeness ' of God, even in the flesh, for He was and is God; Immanuel , which translates from the Hebrew 'God with us ' (Matt.1:23; Isaiah 7:14). Let's look at one more place in Job before continuing in Genesis:

Job 38:4-7
4    Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5    Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
6    Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7    When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

God is telling Job here in this Chapter 38 to pick himself up and act like a man of God, a child of The Living Father. Note verse 7 where 'all the sons of God shouted for joy '. This was when God created all of His children and His creation, so this shouting for joy occurs somewhere after Gen.1:1, and before Satan's rebellion at Gen.1:2, for we were (past tense) all 'sons of God' in that first earth age, before Satan and the 'fallen ones' rebelled, causing the earth to become 'tohuw va bohuw ' (a desolation and ruin). This is why we are again called 'sons of God ' when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. This is the true meaning of the word 'convert ' and to 'return ', as our Father speaks in Isaiah. By believing on His Only Begotten Son that He sent for us, we return to that 'spiritual' state of grace we had before Satan's rebellion. We must wait for Christ's return and the chance for all others to 'return' that will, before that similar first earth age condition, called 'God's eternity', which will be set up again upon this ancient earth (see Rev.20 through 22).

Now continuing with Gen.1:26:

Gen 1:26    And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

This word 'man ' is 'adam ' in the Hebrew and it has no article before it. When this happens in Hebrew grammar, it means 'in general, mankind', not a specific man named Adam. Since all souls were in that first earth age, i.e., they had already been created at Gen.1:1; God is now making 'man' flesh. Note that this is on the 'sixth day' of creation (during the establishing of today's second earth age). Here he 'makes' the hunter-gatherer, and fisherman types of all races, not just one man. This is how the many different races came into being, and God will tell us that 'it was very good ' in verse 31.

Gen 1:27    So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him ; male and female created He them .

The actual 'creating' of all the different races happen with this verse. This word 'man ' is 'adam ' in the Hebrew, and with the article (Hebrew 'eth'Ha'adham'), meaning a particular man Adam. Since the last verse carries over to this one, both male and female were 'created', both at the same time, not necessarily separate with 'adam' and then the 'woman' as in Gen.2:21-23. I realize that these two verses of Gen.1:26 and 27 are taught to mean a general explanation of the creation of man, with the actual details in Gen.2. There is a distinction with the word 'man ' in Hebrew here in Gen.1:26-27 and Gen.2:7-8 which our Father calls to attention. We'll soon cover these distinctions pointed out in the Hebrew manuscripts.

Gen 1:28    And God blessed them , and God said unto them , "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

God blesses all these created in the flesh, and tells them to 'replenish' (fill ) the earth, since the first earth age had become a 'ruin', and now this was the re-establishing of the second earth age, and all souls are to pass through the flesh once, being born of woman (see Hebrew 9:27). All these blessings from God to these are dominion over the sea, fowl of the air, and every living thing upon the earth, but...nothing concerning a 'garden' until Gen.2:8.

Gen 1:29    And God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

Notice these were given the fruit from 'every tree' for 'meat', i.e. food?  We will discover that the specific 'Adam' placed in God's Eden was commanded not to eat from a particular tree in the midst of the 'garden'. This is another distinction between the 'adam ' of Gen.1:26 and the 'Adam' of Gen.2:7. Notice that nothing has been said of farming, or tilling the soil. The food given here is in the 'field' of the world, not the 'garden of Eden', or 'paradise', where God dwelt on earth.

Gen 1:30    And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat:" and it was so.

Was flesh man possibly a vegetarian at this time? There's nothing here about eating animal meat, for the word 'meat ' is 'oklah ' in the Hebrew, meaning 'food ' (Strong's 402). So also, the animals possibly were vegetarians. (You'll find in Isaiah 11 that in God's eternity, the bear will 'feed' like an ox, and the lion will eat straw.) This is where the idea of vegetarianism comes from. However, God gave man 'meat' for food, as we know it today, in Gen.9 after the flood of Noah's time. If you can be a vegetarian, fine, but eating 'clean' meats that God gave commandments for are fine also. Notice that I said 'clean' meats (see Deut.14 for a list). That God gave us certain foods to eat, shunning others, is part of His Law, specifically His health Law. If you're starving and in order to survive, you have to eat an alligator, so be it. But, His health Law will not be fooled. The wrong food will cause you problems if you eat enough of it. Pork is the best example of this. It may taste good, but it 'ain't' healthy. This is why God gave us His Law. If you follow it, your life will benefit under a near perfect set of conditions for maintaining this flesh, and also gaining spiritual food for your soul. If we break His Law, we won't escape, for His Law is set up naturally in this earth's 'nature'. This is why so many create a miserable life for themselves, because they listen to the confusion of Satan's evil teachings dealing with the flesh, going against God's Law. He (Satan) well knows that God's Law will not be mocked, and if not followed, it will go against the 'nature' of even the flesh's creation. (That's right; God's Law still stands even today for us Christians, meaning only those ordinances which our Lord Jesus fulfilled upon the cross were done away with. See Colossians 2 and the Galatians studies.)

Gen 1:31     And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Our Heavenly Father, Jehovah, was pleased with all the re-establishing of the earth and His creation. Again, remember that this is the 'sixth day' creation of the races of 'adam ' in the Hebrew. When we get to Gen.2:7, we will find that the 'man ' 'formed ' and not 'created ' there is 'eth'Ha'adham ' in the Hebrew, with the article and particle. The particle 'eth ' is always emphatic, and 'Ha ' is for extra emphasis, pointing to a special condition.

Genesis 2

Gen 2:1    Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

So God finished the heavens and the earth 'which are now ' (see II Peter 3:7, and my last Letters on Genesis). This word 'host ' is 'tsaba ' in the Hebrew, meaning 'a mass of persons, especially organized for war (an army) ' (Strong's 6633). This then refers to all the 'sons of God', or all souls created in the beginning , and now sides were chosen for the spiritual battle to take place for this second earthly age today (Eph.6:11-12).
Paul relates to us the story of Jacob and Esau, and how God loved Jacob, but hated Esau, before either of the children were yet born in their mother's womb, before either had the chance to do good or evil (Rom.9). In Jeremiah 1:5 God would say to Jeremiah: "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." Also see Isaiah 45 where God also calls Cyrus His anointed, and that God surnamed him.
The point I'm trying to make is that these Scriptures are some of the many in the King James that refer to 'predestination' of the soul. Many of Paul's writings in the New Testament refer to the idea that God 'foreknew ' and 'predestined' certain chosen ones. This is the true meaning of 'chosen', as Christ would say of Paul in Acts 2, for Paul was persecuting Christians before Jesus struck him blind on the road to Damascus, showing that Paul didn't come to Christ; He came to Paul and intervened. Paul's free will was not 'in play'. This intervention happens all throughout God's Word, if you're open to it and look closely. God will, and has stepped in directly to cause certain events, in order to position His elect for His purpose. This should be a sign to you from our Father's Word that even before Jesus died on the cross, God has chosen, or 'pre-ordained' certain ones to help carry out His Plan. Hence, no big mystery if these certain 'chosen' ones were selected in the first earth age, the time of Satan's rebellion, because they followed and served God at that time instead of turning to Satan. Since a third of the stars ('sons of God', but these known as 'fallen angels') followed Satan in that first earth age (Rev.12), where were the rest of the 'sons of God' after that rebellion and before the cleansing of that age of Gen.1:2, and the setting up of this earth age?

Gen 2:2    And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

Gen 2:3   And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.

The Samaritan Pentateuch (Old Testament), and The Septuagint Version of the Hebrew Old Testament have 'sixth day ' instead of 'seventh ' in verse Gen.2:2.1   The 'seventh day' is when God rested, the Sabbath, which is our Saturday and is reckoned from Friday dusk to Saturday dusk.

Gen 2:4    These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

This word 'generations ' is 'towledah ' in Hebrew, and means 'family history, or descendents ' (Strong's 8435). This is important because it is going to single out a 'particular family history' coming up later in this same Chapter, the 'family history' of the man named 'Adam', or 'eth'Ha'adham ' in the Hebrew manuscripts. This our Holy Bible is mainly a 'family history' of God's 'chosen' people, the 'elect', as they come into contact with the Gentile nations. That same 'family history', or 'generations' of the 'chosen' are the ones who God selected to put His Word down in writing, for the sake of all families upon the earth, not only the 'chosen'. It is important to keep this idea in mind for what is to follow, which is a greater purpose for this 'particular Adam' being made separate from the 'adam ' of Gen.1.

Gen 2:5    And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground,

Gen 2:6   But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

In Gen.1:26-27 there is mention of the 'creation' of man ('adam ' without the article meaning 'mankind ' in verse 26, or the various races of mankind, but with the article in verse 27), and what their specific domain or dominion was, the 'field' of the world over all the animals and plant life upon the earth. Nothing was ever said about 'tilling' the soil there. God is getting us prepared for a revelation dealing with a specific 'Adam' in the next few verses.
In the next verse of Gen.2:6, the word 'But ' is 'ed ' in the Hebrew, meaning 'mist ' (Strong's 108). The word 'And' should have been used there instead of 'But' by the translators, to carry all the previous cases of 'And' for emphasis.2
God had not caused it to rain upon this re-established earth yet. The seed and the plant shoots were already there in the earth from Gen.1:1 when He first created it. The earth was totally overflowed with water, destroying that first earth age, the waters then separated to make the dry land appear (re-appear), and now rain was needed to make everything grow again. You'll find in Isaiah 65:17 that when God destroys the earth age we are now in, setting up His eternity, the word 'new heavens' and 'new earth' is from the root word 'chadash ' in Hebrew, meaning 'to rebuild ' (Strong's 2318). So likewise was the destruction of the first earth age. The earth itself was never destroyed, but cleansed of Satan's destruction only.

Gen 2:7    And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

This word 'man ' here in the Hebrew manuscripts is 'eth' Ha' adham '.3   You thus have the article, and the particle. This means a 'specific' man, not mankind in general. The particle compounds more emphasis on top of that idea, so God wanted us to know that He had a particular reason for 'forming' this 'eth' Ha' adham ' separate from those 'created' in Gen.1:26. It has nothing to do with whether one race of people were made better than others, for God said in Gen.1:31 that 'it was very good ' as He loves all His children and wants them 'all' to return unto Him, not following Satan. This is not a discriminatory teaching. Our Father put this 'eth' Ha' adham ' in His Paradise for a special reason; it would be the bloodline that Jesus Christ would come from. Let's continue.

Gen 2:8    (And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed.

The word 'man ' in this verse is again, 'eth' Ha' adham ' in the Hebrew manuscripts. This 'particular man Adam' would be the seed line generation that Christ would come from, as we are given this knowledge even by Paul in I Cor.15:45 that Jesus Christ is there called, the 'last Adam ', meaning the 'mission' and reason for this 'eth' Ha' adham ' bloodline was fulfilled when Christ died on the cross, as Savior for our salvation (There's a lot of spiritual 'meat' in this message, take some time with it and chew well.).
This word 'Eden ' is derived from 'adan ' in the Hebrew meaning 'to be pleasant, to live voluptuously ' (Strong's 5727). The Septuagint Old Testament Greek, which is older than the King James of 1611, uses the word 'paradise ' for Eden.4   In this Chapter 2 of Genesis, you'll find that God also dwelt there in this 'Eden ' or 'paradise ' on earth, with this 'eth' Ha' adham ', and also with 'The Tree of Life ' (Jesus Christ, The Bread of Life), and 'the tree of knowledge of good and evil ' (Satan). The existence of God on earth should not be a shock, because He has told us in His Word that He will dwell on earth with man (again), in the eternity which is the third and last earth age (see the last nine Chapters of Ezekiel, and Rev.20-22).
Until the student grasps this idea of a specific 'eth' Ha' adham ' 'formed' by Jehovah, separate from the races created at Gen.1:26-27, for the purpose of providing a bloodline seed of the 'Woman', from whom Christ Jesus would be born from, then all the Commandments by our Father to Israel on not taking wives of the Canaanites and 'nations' (i.e., non-bloodline Israelite), and staying apart from the nations, will not fully be understood. For this reason also, it is important to realize the events of God's intervention when that bloodline of 'eth' Ha' adham ' became endangered, which if destroyed, would prevent the birth of His Savior in the flesh (this is why God did intervene in the lives of His chosen lineage; Christ's birth would never be prevented by Satan, but Satan did try, many times, even up to the time when Christ was an infant, using Herod to command the deaths of many infants in the hopes of including the baby Jesus). We are also going to learn in Gen.6 with the 'sons of God' taking wives from the 'daughters of men' creating the hybrid 'giant' race, that the word 'men ' there in the Hebrew manuscripts is again, yep... that's right, 'eth' Ha' adham '!

Gen 2:9   And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

This 'Tree of Life ' is Jesus Christ.  'Wisdom ', the subject of God's Word through Solomon's writing in Proverbs 3, is really about this 'Tree of Life' Who was with God in the beginning , and Who was God (see John 1). In Rev.2:7, Jesus stated that He would give to those who 'overcome ', that is, those who pass trials by Satan, to them He would give The Tree of Life. In Rev.22, this Tree of Life will have twelve manner of fruit (symbolizing the twelve tribes of Israel), yielded each month, and the leaves are for the healing of the nations ('ethnos ', meaning Gentiles, or ethnic peoples). This other tree, the 'tree of knowledge of good and evil ', is Satan himself.
I'm not going to do it for you, but if you're having trouble understanding how a 'tree' in God's Word has other meanings, here's a study assignment if you're interested. Research the following verses and Chapters on other meanings of 'trees': Gen.3:6 along with 1 John 2:16; Judges 9:8-15; Job 19:10; Job 24:20; Ps.1; Ps. 37:35; Ps.52:8; Isaiah 6:9-13; Isaiah 66:17; Jer.11:13-19; Jer.17:7-8; Ezekiel 15; Ezekiel 31; Daniel 4; Matt.7:17; Matt.24:32; Luke 13; Romans 11; Rev.2:7; Rev.6:13; Rev.9:4; Rev.22:2.
I ask the new student to not skip these first Chapters in Genesis, for this is the foundation for understanding much of God's Word. If you don't get these Truths here, then Revelation will remain a mystery, and even Christ's condemnation of the 'scribes and Pharisees ' won't be properly understood

Genesis 2:10 - 2:25

In the last Letter we learned that God 'formed' a specific man named 'Adam ' (eth' Ha' adham ' Gen.2:7-8) for the provision of a bloodline that His Only Begotten Son would be born of Woman from (Mary), which was to be separate from other bloodlines. This is why Mary's bloodline genealogy is so emphatic in The Gospel, for she was a Levite (cousin to Elizabeth a Levite, the mother of John the Baptist). To realize this fact is to understand His Word which was handed down through His chosen bloodline to all peoples of all ethnic backgrounds, not solely the Israelites. The Hebrews were selected for the particular purpose of safeguarding His Word for all of Israel, and for 'all nations' of the world (Romans 8-11; Ephesians 3; Psalms 105).
If you have been reared in a different environment other than a Christian background, and hold to other beliefs, then I respect your 'choice', as long as you realize that each must make their own choice to believe that Christ is God, or not, and the choice made by others needs be respected also. There is no reason for racial or religious tension, for God loves all of His children, wishes for all to 'return' unto Him, and is well pleased with the way He made His creation (Gen.1:31). Only those who use Satan's principles of 'divide and conquer' wish for racial and religious tension to remain (I'm not preaching 'one-worldism' either). When any of Jehovah's children come to Him through His Son Jesus Christ, believing on The Christ as Savior, then regardless of your race or nationality, you are considered one of the 'sons of God' (see John 1:12; Romans 8:14; Phill.2:15; 1 John 3:1-2). Thus, we each have a personal responsibility to God in making a decision either to be for Him, or against. If you believe in things that you have not bothered to 'check out' for yourself, then you're letting other men make your choice for you. No man, Church system, or organization can get you into Heaven. Cease from man's systems and ideals and listen to our Father Jehovah, The God of Abraham, The God of Isaac, and The God of Jacob, The 'I AM'. Study God's Word for yourself so God will 'approve' of your claim of calling yourself a 'Christian'.
Many of my Christian brethren have a hard time with this teaching of the 'eth'Ha'adham' and the 'adam ' being two different Adams. No matter, because many people believe that Easter is part of God's Word also, since it's in the King James Version in Acts 12. But, it is not in the original New Testament Greek manuscripts. That word 'Easter ' in Acts 12 was added by the King James Translators, for that word is the Greek word 'pascha ' in the manuscripts, meaning 'Passover '. Some later Bible translations even correct this error, but still make errors in places where the King James Version is 'right on' the nail.
It seems that many people are naturally lazy when it comes to checking out God's Word taught by some man with a bunch of worldly credentials. God warned us all throughout His Word that these 'false prophets' would be doing this very thing, especially towards the end (see Ezekiel 13; Matthew 7:15; 16:6-11; Mark 12:38-40; Col.2:8; Luke 21). Well who's at fault? False teachers of God's Word are the main fault, because they are responsible for preparing the True Word in their congregation's hearts and minds, not on their lips (see Isaiah 29:13; Matt.5:17-20, 15). Past this, we each are responsible unto God for getting into the Scriptures ourselves. It's kind of like an unjust town official or governor. If enough people in that town know what righteousness truly is, then they'll know whether that town official should represent them or not, and get that individual out of office if needs be. Likewise, in God's Church, there should be discipline also. But if the congregation is ignorant of God's Word, then they're open to all sorts of abominations of idol worship, i.e., man's doctrines replacing God's Truth.
One example is those who teach that Easter is the day Christians should observe as representing Christ's resurrection, based on handed down traditions and that one occurrence of the word 'Easter ' in Acts. Anyone with common sense should see a problem with this if they have read and understood The Gospel for themselves, meaning on what time observance The Last Supper and crucifixion was held (The Feast of Passover ). The point I'm trying to make is that in many Churches today, the congregation would boot out someone teaching God's Word full strength. Many do not understand that the Kenites (Hebrew for 'sons of Cain') have taken over many Church organization headquarters, and determine how and what doctrines are taught to the congregations at the lowest levels within that group. "Well, can you document that in God's Word?" Sure; that's what I'm doing with this Web site. It is not that difficult to expel many false doctrines taught in various Churches today, if you study God's Word and are familiar with the manuscripts. How many Churches could disprove these teachings from God's Word using a Strong's Concordance, the Hebrew Massorah notes in the oldest Hebrew manuscripts, and even the Greek manuscripts. How many Churches teach with knowledge of the manuscripts? Especially, how many Churches would these teachings be accepted in today? Very few. Why? Because many Churches have gotten away from God's Truth, and are teaching 'doctrines of men', traditions handed down from who knows where, that are not in God's Word.
I'm not against God's Church, which is the Body of Christ's believers. If you're in a good Bible teaching Church which reveals the deeper Word, hang on to them; support it.
Let's consider this creation account of 'adam ' in Gen.1 compared to the forming of 'eth' Ha' adham ' in Gen.2 some more. The main point I wish to impress upon your reasoning is that this 'eth' Ha' adham' (the man named 'Adam') was 'formed ' separate of the 'created ' 'adam ' (general mankind) of Gen.1:26.  This man named 'Adam', or 'eth' Ha'adham' in the Hebrew, had a separate 'forming ' and dwelling for example, in the Garden of God or Eden (see Gen.2:8-17). The dwelling of the various races ('adam ' without the article in the Hebrew) was outside Eden, or beyond God's paradise. This teaching is in line with Gen.4:16-17, where "...Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden." (Gen.4:16). It is safe to assume that the 'land of Nod' was where Cain took his wife from, as stated in Gen.4:17.
It is written in Gen.5:4 that the man 'Adam' begat 'sons ' which is the word 'ben ' in the Hebrew, meaning 'son or grandson, great-grandson, etc. ', and he also begat 'daughters ' after Seth. There have been many arguments over these other 'sons' and 'daughters' of the man 'Adam' (eth' Ha' adham ) being those who populated the 'land of Nod', and from whom Cain also took his wife. If our Heavenly Father had given us the blood lineage in years of Cain's posterity in Gen.4, as we have for 'Adam' in Genesis 5, or the bloodline heritage of Cain's wife, then this riddle would easily be solved. It's almost like God purposefully left out a piece of the puzzle for some reason..., for this is like tripping over a step (remember the big step between Gen.1:1 and Gen.1:2?). That's exactly the reason for this puzzle of Cain's wife. God is trying to get us to think and observe at this point. Did you notice that Cain, who we all assume was the first son of the man 'Adam' (eth' Ha' adham ), is not listed in 'THE BOOK OF THE GENERATIONS OF ADAM' there in Gen.5? Well, we have Cain's lineage at the end of Gen.4, but it's separate from Adam's (eth'Ha'adham ) in Gen.5. Wonder why? Hold that thought, we're going to get to the bottom of this soon. Abel is not listed in Gen.5 because he was 'murdered' by Cain, and didn't have a chance for offspring (see Gen.3:10 about 'thy brother's blood' ).

The last Letter on Genesis left off at the subject of 'trees' in God's Word. 'The Tree of Life' in Gen.2:9 is Jesus Christ, The Bread of Life (see John 6). This other 'tree', the 'tree of knowledge of good and evil ' is Satan himself. If you took time to research the Bible verses listed at the end of my last Letter, then you should have a fair idea of how a 'tree' is used as a symbol for Christ, and Satan, and people in God's Word. These two particular trees stated above were both in Eden, in God's paradise where He placed 'the Adam' ('eth' Ha' adham '). We now continue with more information about this Garden of Eden with Gen.2:10. We ask a word of Wisdom from our Father in Christ's Name, Amen.

Gen.2:10   And a river went out of Eden to water the garden ; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

There's more to this 'river ' here. It has a spiritual meaning also. Remember that the word 'Eden' means 'to live voluptuously', 'a pleasure' ? (from 'adan ' Strong's no.5727) If you can receive it, this is where God dwelt on earth, in 'paradise' (used for Eden in the Greek). It means heaven, for heaven is wherever God is. We'll discover later in Gen.3:8 that the 'sound (voice) of the Lord God walked in the garden in the cool of the day '. If you've done your homework in Ezekiel 39 through the end, and read Rev.21 & 22, you have another description of God's return to this old earth, but an earth that will be 'renewed', or cleansed. There is a reference to a 'river' originating from God in Rev.22. Let's turn there.

Rev 22:1   And he shewed me a pure river of water of life , clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb .

Back in Rev.21 the 'city ' that John saw descended down from God, to where? To earth, for that is where Christ is returning to, and will rule with His elect for a thousand years (Rev.20:4; Zech.14). At the end of God's thousand year Millennium reign, this old earth will be put back anew, the way God intended it to be established before Satan rebelled in that first earth age, and the cause for its ruin today in this second earth age. God created this earth to be inhabited (Isaiah 45:18). You'll also find at the first of Isaiah 54 that our Father shall be known in the eternity as "...The Holy One of Israel, The God of the whole earth shall He be called." (Isa.54:5). Those few verses haven't happened yet in the eternity sense, as His 'gathering' of His 'bride', His People, also described there hasn't happened yet. This is to let us know that this earth is not going anywhere in the future, and is never going to be destroyed. Let's continue further in Rev.22:

Rev.22:2    In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life , which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

We just read about 'The Tree of Life' back in this same Chapter of Genesis (Gen.2:9). That 'Tree of Life' is a symbol for Jesus Christ The Bread of Life. Sounds like God's eternity and this description of the Garden of Eden are similar doesn't it? How about one more reference before we move on:

Ezek 36:33   Thus saith the Lord GOD; 'In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
34    And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
35    And they shall say, 'This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.'

I know this verse here is not a direct statement like, 'This land that was desolate WILL DEFINITELY become THE garden of Eden again...', but being too literal, missing God's metaphors and symbols in His Word is to miss the deeper spiritual messages that are part of 'eyes to see, and ears to hear' . I mean that in the sense that many misunderstandings of God's Word come from those who take the parts of The Word that are metaphor, and teach them as 'literal', and the literal parts, such as God coming down from heaven back to earth and setting up the third and last earth age, the literalist thinks is metaphor. An example would be man's wrong interpretation of the killing with 'the beasts of the earth ' in Rev.6:8 as wild animals attacking people all over the world in the end time . Some people actually believe this. No wonder many are easily fooled into believing that their going to be 'raptured' out of here before Satan comes. We are told in the Book of Daniel that Satan will come in peacefully and prosperously. The 'beasts ' of Revelation is a metaphor for the Kenite systems controlling people's minds in the end time (the 'beast' is a political system, i.e., the 'New World Order'), and for that matter, much of the symbols in Revelation are metaphor or symbols. Many use a 'literal' understanding because they have a difficult time thinking in the 'Spirit', and rely on the flesh understanding; too much listening to traditions. The Holy Spirit reveals these deeper messages to those who are sincere with God's Truth, and not to those who rely on others for interpretation by the flesh mind.
The last Chapter of Ezekiel tells us the Name of that Holy City, the New Jerusalem; it is 'Jehovah Shammah' in the Hebrew, which translates to English: 'The LORD is there' . What a powerful and blessed thought. So I hope you get the idea that God was here in the Garden of Eden with 'the Adam', that is to say, the 'eth' Ha'adham '. We continue with these 'branches' of 'a River out of Eden'.

Gen 2:11    The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
12   And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13    And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14    And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

Again, these four rivers around Eden are fed from the 'river ' back in Genesis 2:10, a River that proceeds out of the Throne of God and The Lamb. This is a spiritual message from our Father, that all goodness and righteousness flows from Him, and He represents the flowing waters that give 'everlasting' Life. It is this 'River of Life' from God that Jesus was teaching the Samaritan woman at the well about (see John 4).

Gen 2:15    And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.)

This 'man ' is the 'eth' Ha' adham ', the man Adam , that was placed in the garden of Eden to keep it.

Gen 2:16   And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17    But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Again, this 'tree of the knowledge of good and evil' is Satan because Satan was created good, but became evil. Adam and Eve did not die immediately after they ate from this 'tree'. However, you will notice that Adam did not live past one thousand years, or no man in the flesh for that matter. Do you remember what a 'day' to God is equal to? (see II Peter 3).

Gen 2:18   And the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."

If you remember back in Gen.1:27, God 'created ' 'adam ' (general mankind, or the races) 'male ' and 'female ', at the same time. But here in Gen.2:18, this 'eth' Ha'adham ' has no female with him. Hold that thought.

Gen 2:19   And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20    And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

Did you notice the distinction of this 'forming ' every beast, after this Adam was placed in the Garden? I thought that God 'created ' all the beasts of the field back in Genesis Chapter 1? There are two possible ways to look at this: (1) The creation of 'adam ', or general mankind was on God's sixth day, and this 'eth' Ha'adham ' 'forming ' is on God's eighth day, which would mean that Genesis 1 through Genesis 2 would flow in a chronological order, and these 'beasts' and 'fowl' are animals 'formed' to help Adam with tilling the soil. Or:... (2) Both the 'adam ' or various races of mankind, and the specific 'eth' Ha'adham ' were created and formed on God's sixth day, but the specific Adam had a different dwelling, that is, in the Garden of Eden, with domestic type animals, etc., while the other 'adam' or races dwelt outside of Eden, i.e., the land of Nod , and were given the food and wild game of the 'field'. (The word "man" in Genesis 1:27 is also 'eth'Ha'adham' in the Manuscripts, referring to 'the man Adam' along with the Sixth day creation. Thus The Word leads me to hold to the 2nd choice, of God's Sixth day creation of both mankind (races), and 'the man Adam' placed in God's Garden . And that, even though I can also see Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 flowing in chronological order. Each should decide this for themselves, as it is not the most important Message our Lord wants us to grasp within these first Genesis Chapters.
There's another pointer to this separation between 'mankind' (races) and 'the man Adam', with the different aspects of Jacob and Esau's lifestyles given starting in Gen.25:26. It is written there that Esau was 'a cunning hunter, a man of the field' , but 'Jacob was a plain man dwelling in tents' . Though Jacob and Esau were both born of Isaac, they each symbolize the two different abodes, and 'two manner of peoples' as stated by God back in Gen.25:23.
Again, God was well pleased with all of His children in the way He created them, so the bloodline of 'eth'Ha'adham' was for Christ's Mission as Savior in the flesh, and nothing else should be read into this.
For this reason, I feel there is a deeper message hidden within this description between the different 'adams', one (eth'Ha'adham ) being specifically placed in God's Garden of Eden, where also the Tree of Life (Jesus Christ) and 'the tree of knowledge of good and evil' (Satan) dwelt. Genesis parallels Revelation on many of these matters, as the Tree of Life is mentioned there again in God's Eternity (see Rev.21-22). The important thing, is to note that God placed a separate lineage, the 'eth'Ha'adham' , in His Paradise for a certain reason, to provide the 'Seed ' of the 'woman ', the bloodline of Jesus Christ (see Gen.3:15).

Gen 2:21   And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22    And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.

If you'll count the number of ribs that a man has, and that of a woman, you'll find that both have the same number. So what really is this word 'rib ' that the King James translators chose?  It is 'tsela ' in the Hebrew, and it is from the root 'tsala ', which means 'to curve ' (Strong's 6760 and 6763). Have you ever heard of the curve of the DNA helix? Well according to the chromosome configuration from the DNA, that is what determines whether the child born is male or female. Am I saying that whether one is born male or female is a chance or odds type of event? No. I'll leave that to God Who designed and made DNA that science discovered, and didn't create.

Gen 2:23   And Adam said, "This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
24    Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

God created woman in order to allow all souls to pass through this flesh one time, deciding whether they will follow God, or Satan (see Hebrews 9:27; Judges 2 & 3). This specific woman (Eve) would be called 'the mother of all living ', and not because she was the first woman, because there were other 'females' created on the sixth day outside of God's Garden of Eden (remember the land of Nod?). Eve was called thus because through her womb would be the specific bloodline that Jesus Christ would be born from, allowing God's Plan of Salvation to take place, giving the opportunity for all that believe on His Son Jesus Christ to have Life everlasting and eternal. This is why Paul called Jesus the 'last Adam ' in I Cor.15, showing God's main purpose for that bloodline of 'eth' Ha'adham '.
This is why the institution of marriage that God set up is sacred and holy. So naturally Satan wishes to destroy this bond between a husband and wife, man and woman, with evil doctrines such as homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, etc. The court systems in many lands make it all too easy for getting a divorce, when God gave us specific conditions that must be met for divorce in a marriage.

Gen 2:25   And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

At this stage, there was no sin. Sin is Death (note the capital on Death). Death is another name for the devil, Satan (see Hebrews 2:14; Rev.6:8; 20:14, I Cor.15:54). As Satan's rebellion was the cause of darkness and 'death', and the method of death of the flesh he has been given control over, this was also the method that God used against Lucifer, by Jesus Christ claiming the victory over Death for us, on the cross. There was no 'death' in that first earth age when Lucifer was 'perfect in his ways' (see Ezekiel 28), as there will be no more 'death' after this second earth age is ended and God's eternity, the third earth age is set up everlasting.
I hope you enjoyed this study in Genesis 2. We'll continue next time with the sin that Adam and Eve partook of in the garden of Eve, beginning the 3rd Chapter of Genesis.

Genesis 3:1 - 3:6

In the last study on Genesis Chapter 2, God revealed to us that He put a specific man in the Garden of Eden, the 'eth'Ha'adham' , meaning a 'specific' man named 'Adam', to keep and dress this same Garden. We also discovered from The Word that God formed animals 'after' this man Adam was formed, and that God brought all of these animals to Adam to see what he would name them (Gen.2:19-20). After this act, God took the 'curve' (translate the word 'rib ' in Gen.2:21-22) out of Adam and made Woman, Eve.
And we learned that since this 'woman' was made from Adam, we were told why he should be head over the woman, and that they both should become 'one flesh' in marriage. As Paul and Peter the apostle would teach, it is necessary for the man to be in Christ in order to properly be serving as head of the family. For this reason also, a man should treat his wife as he would want to be treated. Both spouses in Christ make for a strong bond on earth, and in the Spirit which is impossible for the world to break, even when husband and wife are apart from each other temporarily. Disruption of the marriage can only be caused by the husband and wife not listening and trying to follow God's Law, and following things in the world instead. Many sources of media and spiritual influences exist today to purposefully destroy the institution of marriage. Don't listen to them. These influences can range from the various popular women's magazines and TV shows which teach ideas of free 'lifestyles' like fads, much like putting on a new dress, and much of this type of media is aimed at the young teenage girl early on so as to twist and condition that teen away from the true ideas of sexuality and marriage taught within The Word.
It's no different in a man's world either. There are just as many traps to temp you away from the wholesomeness of a true relationship based upon commitment to love and cherish your wife only, instead of wandering astray from her to another. It seems that in today's world, when a man or woman sticks to God's Plan concerning marriage, preserving the 'flower of their youth' until marriage, they are treated as being 'old fashioned'. Don't concern yourselves with that label, because the status quo of the majority is seldom correct, and they can't live the marriage for you.
We also learned in Genesis 2 that the 'River' which split into four heads was in the same sense as the River which will be set up in God's eternity that emits from 'the Throne of God and The Lamb.
We now begin Chapter 3 of Genesis, and we ask a Word of Wisdom from Jehovah, in Christ's Name, Amen.

Gen 3:1   Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, "Yea, hath God said, 'Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"

This is all taking place within the Garden of God, Eden. If you'll remember back to Gen.2:9, God made trees to grow in the Garden also, the 'Tree of Life' which is symbolic of Jesus Christ, and is the food of the eternity (see Rev.2:7; 22; Ezekiel 47). This other tree also in the midst of the garden is the 'tree of knowledge of good and evil', which represents Satan, and is the opposite of the 'Tree of Life'.
Allow me to give insight for your 'spiritual' mind about the teaching of these 'trees', and their 'fruit', and how they relate to 'Light' and 'darkness'. Again, it is important to not let your flesh reasoning get in the way of understanding how these 'trees' can be symbolic of Christ, and of Satan. The 'Tree of Life' and Its fruit will apply again when? When Christ returns to set up His Kingdom on this earth. Well, what kind of body will we 'all ' have after Jesus returns? A spiritual body, not the flesh (I Cor.15; II Peter 3:10; Psalms 97; Nahum 1; Zechariah 14; Phil.3; 1 Thess.4). It's this 'Tree of Life' Which will sustain our spiritual body, not the flesh. It is in the same sense, the 'manna ' from heaven which fed the Israelites during the forty years in the desert, but different (see John 6:47-58). Well can it sustain the flesh body also? Yes. And I ask, can a spiritual body eat man's food? Yes (see Gen.18; Luke 24). So this should give us a clue as to how that spiritual body can live upon this earth, without flesh. As God stated in Isa.45:18, He created this earth to be inhabited, and it will be in His eternity. This time of Adam and Eve in the 'garden' is similar to 'paradise' upon earth in the eternity. Since the Israelites could eat 'manna ' from heaven, the angel's food, Adam and Eve were also able to eat from both of these 'trees' in the Garden of Eden while in the flesh. I'm not saying that Adam and Eve ate of the Tree of Life also at this stage while in Eden, but It was there, which represents Jesus Christ and that spiritual Food of the eternity.
Now let's go a little deeper still. These 'trees' are spiritual. They are not in the same sense of the flesh, so while we are trapped in this flesh body, we will not be able to fully understand exactly how the following events with the sin of Eve took place. Paul was teaching in 2 Cor.12, about how he knew a man once (more than likely, that man was Paul), how he was caught up into the 'third heaven' , and heard unspeakable words which are not lawful for man to utter. In other words, what he heard and saw in that vision of the eternity (third heaven age), while in the spirit, flesh man could not fathom within the limits of the flesh mind. With this same mindset, we are not to overuse our reasoning of the flesh concerning God's Ways, for His Ways are not man's ways (Isa.55:8). For what is to follow, I ask for the student to keep in mind two major, but unrelated events recorded in God's Word. First, the idea of the Holy Spirit causing Mary to bear Jesus Christ in the flesh, and second, the idea of how the 'sons of God' (fallen angels), or spirit beings caused flesh women to bear the 'gibbor ', or 'giant' race, also in the flesh.
Most people living day to day lives upon this earth haven't really had any major experience regarding the existence of the spiritual realm. Others have had experiences which none can account for in the flesh realm, and thus a spiritual existence is very real for them. Many Christians can give witness as such, but they can not prove it to anyone else, unless others were there also with them (much as Christ striking Paul down on the road to Damascus, where others present heard but did not see. [Acts 9]).
Continuing with Gen.3:1... Is this serpent a real snake here talking to Eve? This word 'serpent ' in the Hebrew is 'nachash ', and it means 'a snake ', but, in Numbers 21:6 and Deut.8:15 we have 'fiery serpents '. These 'fiery serpents' are 'saraph nachash ' in the Hebrew, meaning 'shinning, or burning ones ' (Strong's nos. 8314 & 5175). They were shinning spirits, not literal snakes as we know in the world of flesh. God doesn't leave us guessing, for He makes it very clear who this 'serpent ' of Genesis is. Turn with me to Rev.12:9:

Rev 12:9   And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent , called the Devil, and Satan , which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Here we have it. Satan is 'that old serpent' , 'old' being used in the sense of the time of his rebellion (first earth age) and, this reference in the Garden of Eden. Don't let anyone tell you different, for Satan naturally wants you to think that this 'serpent ' in the Garden is a reptile in the flesh sense, for he is the father of religious 'animism' also, which involves the worship of animals as gods.
Satan is twisting God's Words around just a little with this verse in Gen.3:1. God told Adam and Eve that "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: ..." Gen.2:16-17. Satan did not properly quote our heavenly Father. Eve should have noticed this, for it is one of Satan's methods of deception. Don't be naive in thinking this same style of misquoting God's Word isn't still going on today. I assure you, it is, and on purpose by some. Eve is going to be lured into misquoting God next:

Gen 3:2   And the woman said unto the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3    But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, 'Ye shall not eat it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.'"

God said nothing about 'touching' this tree. Eve added the words 'neither shall ye touch it' . What's more, Gen.2:17 has a figure of speech in the Hebrew called a Polyptoton , where 'thou shalt surely die ' has special emphasis on it, meaning in the Hebrew: 'dying thou shalt die '.1   Eve also misquoted God by not including this 'figure', but instead saying 'lest ye die '. So it seems, the stage is set, by both Satan, and Eve not taking God at His Word. This is the condition when we as humans think ourselves smarter than God, believing we can figure things out for ourselves, without Him. Remember, Satan and Eve are supposed to be 'directly' quoting God here. That's why the quotation marks are even supplied by the King James translators.
So what's this word 'touch ' that Eve added to God's quote? The word 'touch ' is 'naga ' in the Hebrew and it's from a "primitive root; properly, to touch, i.e., lay the hand upon (for any purpose; euphemism, to lie with a woman )" (Strong's no. 5060). A euphemism is the usage of a nicer word to describe a more serious act, such as when a child may ask where their uncle is who died, they might be told, "He passed away", instead of, "He's dead". Even the part of the definition for this Hebrew word 'naga ' given by Dr. Strong from the Hebrew is a sort of euphemism, with 'to lie with a woman' , instead of 'sexual intercourse'.
Some can keep to the traditional understanding of this act in the Garden concerning the 'apple', but the word apple is not there either in the King James, or the Hebrew manuscripts. If you still wish to choose a lighter meaning behind this word 'naga ', like touching with the hand only, so be it, but you probably won't understand many other deeper messages within the rest of God's Word either.
Those of God's people understanding the deeper Word, and the outer material flesh understanding of The Word also, which most Christians see, should not be bothered by criticism from those who only see with 'flesh eyes'. God hid many deeper messages in His Word which put together the Whole Plan for those who love Him and study His Word in 'spirit and truth', not in the flesh reasoning. There also is no guarantee the deeper messages will be understood with much study only. God makes the decision who is to see, not us. Well, am I possibly putting myself above my fellow Christian brethren? Not at all, for I shall never feel worthy of His Grace as a sinner. I see spiritual gifts from God in the sense of 'responsibility', not prestige, power or status. I have no authority of my own self, but am as 'filthy rags' to God, even at my best. The one given many gifts by God has the greater responsibility as a servant to all. This idea of responsibility to service, given high positions of authority, such as Senate, President, etc., transfers over in the material world also. Do you remember what Jesus told Pilate about his position and authority? (John 19; also see Daniel 4).
There are more clues in God's Word that this sin Eve was lured into by Satan involved more than just eating fruit off a tree. Turn to 2 Cor.11:

2 Cor 11:2   For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband , that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ .

This is in the spiritual sense, as the Christian is espoused to Christ spiritually. Thus, the analogy of a 'chaste virgin' and 'husband' Who is Christ.

2 Cor 11:3   But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty , so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ .

Paul intends this corrupting in the spiritual sense also, concerning the Body of Christ being deceived into believing on 'a spurious messiah', which is Satan who comes before Jesus does.
Notice that Paul is giving a little remembrance dealing with that serpent in the Garden and the act of Eve being 'beguiled '? This word 'beguiled ' in the Greek (we're in the New Testament) is 'exapatao '. It is made up of two Greek words, 'ek ' and 'apatao ', and it has only one meaning in the Greek, that is 'to seduce wholly' (Strong's no. 1818). All occurrences of 'exapatao ' in The New Testament Greek refer to the original sin caused by Satan in the Garden with Eve, either directly as in 2 Cor.11:3; 1 Timothy 2:14; Romans 7:11, or indirectly with Rom.16:18; 1 Cor.3:18; 2 Thess.2:3. All other instances of 'deceive ' in The New Testament are from the Greek words 'planao ', 'plane ', 'planos ', or 'apatao ' which all mean to 'roam from safety, truth, or virtue', or to be an 'impostor'. This is just another clue within God's Word about what the act in the Garden really was. There will be more clues as we progress through these first few Chapters of Genesis.

Gen 3:4    And the serpent said unto the woman, "Ye shall not surely die:
5    For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."

This 'serpent ' (Satan, the 'saraph nachash' ) just went directly opposite to God's Commandment, so who are you going to believe? This is just as important for today as that time in the Garden of Eden, for Satan also has his 'ministers ' disguised as Apostles of Christ supposedly teaching God's Word (2 Cor.11). In Rev.6 and 1 Cor.15 we are given the word 'Death ' as a proper name. It is another name for Satan. It is he who brought 'death' into the world, and it is he whom Christ defeated on the cross. This is why 'death and hell', along with the 'dragon' (Satan) will be cast into the 'lake of fire' at the end of this world age, ushering in God's eternity (Rev.20 & 21).
Satan was also telling Eve that her 'eyes shall be opened' with this act. Well just which 'gods ' is the serpent talking about here in Gen.3:5? Remember the 'sons of God' (fallen angels) who came before God's Throne, along with Satan, in Job 1? These false 'gods ' are Satan and the 'fallen angels' of Gen.6. Since Adam and Eve were created 'innocent' and placed in the Garden, their memory, as it is today, of the spiritual existence was taken away. In innocence is no sin, therefore they were not ashamed because they did not retain knowledge of the spiritual realm while in the flesh. The 'giant' race offspring from the 'mating' of the fallen angels and flesh daughters did produce an offspring in the flesh which retained spiritual knowledge of the heavenly realms, and this is why God destroyed that hybrid race. These are where we get ancient Babylonian, Greek, Egyptian, and Roman mythology and paganism, which is their 'word of gods', babel, i.e., confusion.
This is also why anyone attempting to unravel the meaning of the mythologies without believing and understanding God's Word will fail. Those myths are about real events that happened in Genesis, twisted into folklore masked by these ancient priests, in the sense that most all of these ancient mythologies accounted for these events in God's Garden, the murder of Abel by Cain, etc., supplanting the Truth with various names. Even today, many teachers of God's Word would rather believe these myths rather than the record of events in Genesis, just because of the existence of Babylonian cuneiform tablets that are older than the time of Moses, who put down The Word from God in Genesis. These unlearned even base their false assumption that Moses got the creation story from these ancient Babylonian tablets.
The word 'trees ' as used in these verses dealing with 'the tree of knowledge of good and evil', is the Hebrew word 'atsah ', and means 'to shut or close the eyes ' (Strongs nos. 6095, root of 6086, 'ets '). So this serpent who is Satan, is even lying about the 'eyes being opened' and becoming 'as gods'. Hey, it's nothing new; Satan's children are still trying to push these ideas today. So what's the main lesson from all of this? It is this: God caused all to be born of woman one time in the flesh (except Satan and his angels) to find out whether we would follow God, or Satan. When we go it alone, without God in our lives, we may get some knowledge on our own that aligns with His Word, and most likely after messing up a bunch, in pain and misery. That is the 'hard way' to Truth, and is this 'atsah ', or 'closing of the eyes '. When we choose to come to our Heavenly Father, and sincerely listen to Him through His Word Jesus Christ, seeking His guidance and direction in our lives, we have the 'victory' over this flesh. The 'price' Christ paid already for us. We will be tested however, but not to worry, for "... If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Rom.8:31).

Gen 3:6   And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

These descriptions here all refer to the bodily pleasures of the flesh. Here's some more parallels to these in God's Word:

I Jn 2:16   For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Gen 6:2   That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

You should notice that Eve looked upon a 'tree', not fruit, or apples. Further, how can eating an apple make you wise? I know a lot of people who love apples and...well, maybe I better leave that one alone. I hope you did some homework back in Genesis 2 around verse 9 in my second Letter on Genesis, where I gave many Bible references on various meanings of 'trees' in God's Word referring to people.
I'm going to give you something else to ponder concerning this 'serpent ', who is Satan, and this 'tree of knowledge of good and evil' , meaning Satan was once a good Cherub (Ezek.28), but became evil. Many mystical systems handed down throughout the centuries teach about traversing levels, up, in a snakelike spiral fashion, back to the path of ultimate wisdom. This was the main goal of the 'mysteries' of various pagan temples. This 'serpent' represents the 'path' to that goal. The only problem is, the ultimate wisdom sought for on that 'path', is not Jesus Christ or God, but truly 'that old serpent' , who is Satan. This is why you will see the symbol of 'that old serpent' in pagan symbology, and at other times as a dragon. Keep in mind that these are merely symbols for something of spiritual evil and very real, i.e., Satan. These systems began in Babylonia with Sargon I around 3800 B.C., who in my opinion, and the opinion of others based upon Assyrian history, was Cain. The Assyrian records dating back to that time even names this Sargon I as 'the son of the devil'.
No worries if you are in Christ, for we have been given power through Christ over Satan and his host of fallen angels, and their representatives on earth (Luke 10). They are preparing to make a return back to earth, as written in God's Word (Rev.12), and God's prophets of old knew it, and would have liked to have been here during our time, so let God be your 'fear'; reverence Him, not the things of this world.
