Did Dan Lafferty ever live in Farmington, Utah?

I am currently reading "Under Banner Of Heaven- A Story of Violent Faith". I am a former Morman who grew up in Farmington, Utah. For a very short time around the mid to late 70's we had a sunday school teacher who told us that "That a child would not stand in the way of the kindom of god. Even a child would be killed so the kingdom of god could go forth and that he would Kill a child if ordered by god.". He also stated if Ordered by god- "He would kill us without hesitaion". In less than a week he was released and I never saw him again. I seem to vaguely recall his name as Brother Lafferty but not really sure but years later my father told me that one of the Lafferty brothers lived in our LDS ward. Does anyone know if Dan Lafferty ever lived in Farmington, Utah?
