DIY Plans for Bookcase?

Where can I find a good set of DIY plans for building floor to ceiling book cases in my study?  I'm NOT mechanical, so I probably don't have the tools to do it yet.  Should I just hire someone?  Won't that be grossly expensive?  Should I use beech, or some other wood?
