I think when you're in the limelight, even if you weren't supposed to be, and even if you don't want to be, and you're only the "added bonus" so to speak, you have an image to maintain.
She is a role model whether she wants to be or not, and as such she should have watched her language, even if it was the written word rather than the spoken one on this occasion.
