Cure for panic attacks?

Anybody know of a website offering good information about the symptoms associated with / and a cure for panic attacks?

I have been experimenting with a herbal cure for panic attacks but while it has helped a little I still feel like I'm trying to put out a forest fire with a garden hosepipe!

I'm not too keen on using lexapro or even xanax for panic attacks - i.e. any medication for panic attacks, I have read some things about these and other medications that put me off.

I have been thinking about writing this question for a long time (wasn't too keen) anyway it's out there now.

Any info you have that can help me with a cure for panic attacks will be greatly appreciated.

If you're looking for a Cure For panic attacks I can tell you this story about my Aunt that should help you:

She was a sufferer of anxiety and panic attacks for many years, and believe me she was not someone you wanted to be stuck in a traffic jam with :-)

My Aunt lived with us on and off for 10 years. I clearly remember the dizzy spells, tightness in her throat and chest, hot flushes, she was worried about everything.
Forget about flying, job interviews (although I think that could be something we all share Laughing ), or even going to car boot sales.

She was out of work and in and out of medical professional's offices for years and on medication for panic attacks (xanax, lexapro and others I can't remember) My mom would tease her that her bathroom resembled a dealer's office.

Anyway, I would love to say that all of this helped her overcoming panic attacks but I couldn't see much difference. In fact, if anything, the medications gave my aunt increased hypertension ... but I'm no doctor, so take my opinion from where it comes. And now I see they are even selling books on "How to get off Xanax " , for $44 at Amazon!

Finally our mom actually found a great website on the internet which she showed my Aunt. Unfortunately my aunt left it (she was fed up with experimenting with every new fangled idea) and I think a few months must have gone by before she found the same panic help website herself on the web.

She subscribed, learnt a completely natural technique free of medicines,  and within only a few days had already eliminated her panic attacks.
No, it wasn't that she lessened the feelings associated with panic attacks, I need to be clear - this was a cure for panic attacks . I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't witnessed first hand.

Ok, so by now you're getting annoyed with me for not giving the site so you can visit cure for panic attacks . There is a charge, but honestly I think my mom would have gladly have paid 10 times that.

My aunt is now 46 years old (I think, she's 8 years younger than my mom), employed again , and lives with a great guy. Her life has done a 360. I'm glad for her, she really deserves a break.

Anyway, I really hope that helps and that this is your cure for panic attacks.

All the best.

Thank you for the link Rosy, I really appreciate it, that's a very helpful site.

You seem to have suffered at the hands of the reporting trolls (I was hoping it was just a Yahoo Q&A thing).

Nonetheless, great advice and I appreciate it.

I'm going to close the question now while we still have some good info on the page and before the link spammers arrive.

Sit down and take slow deep breaths. While inhaling count one thousand and one, one thousand and two and then exhale for the same count. And if you are having them often, I suggest seeing a doctor and try to find out why you are experiencing them so frequently.

You can also go to the hospital while you are going through an  attack, they can assess you better like that.

Look at the possibility of seeing a counsellor and trying to get to the root issue of your panic attacks.

Those are my tips to cure panic attacks .

I have suffered from anxiety attacks for about 2 years - mostly anxiety that I am going to have another panic attack.
I have been on Celexa for about a year and everything is fine. Now I have gained weight, have no sexual appetite, and basically just don't want to have to take these pills all my life...

But whenever I try to go off the pills the anxiety comes back. Anyone out there experience this, and if so, how can I over come it?

Usually you cant really think straight during a panic attack but here are some panic attack tips - no medication:

Drink water, Usually you'll be breathing heavily so you don't want to get all dry.

Find a quite place,

Have someone to comfort you, Someone to hold your hand or hug you.

Tell people that you get panic attacks and that they should try and help you by taking you somewhere quiet.

To stop panic attacks is very simple. All you have to do is stop the emergency message from being sent to your adrenal glands.

Learn these four simple steps and your panic attack will only last for three minutes. Once you understand how this works, you never have to have a panic attack again.
1. Relax.
2. Stop Negative Thinking.
3. Use Coping Statements.
4. Accept Your Feeling
