Cure For Panic Attacks

Looking for a website offering helpful information on a cure for panic attacks ?

I'm not too keen on using medication (lexapro, xanax etc), I have read some reviews that put me off.

Appreciate any info you can give on a cure for panic attacks.

(Hayley, you have to confirm your Yedda subscription in the mail Yedda sends you or they cancel your account - I know, they don't make it very clear....)

I will include a link at the bottom to a great website (must find it first) that has a cure for panic attacks.

Anxiety and panic attacks often root from a build up of stress owing to unusually stressful events (and sometimes even monotonous routine events) - losing a job, debt, divorce, losing a loved one etc. Lots of people who suffer from anxiety / panic attacks also suffer from depression .

Advice f or panic attack sufferers :

  • Spend more time relaxing, having fun and destressing - program time for it at first as it may not be something you would naturally do (clearly)!
  • You must ask for emotional support when needed.
  • A correct diet and regular exercise will do wonders - you don't have to run  marathons, 10 or 20 minutes a day is sufficient.

You will find good advice and a cure for panic attacks at  eliminate panic and anxiety attacks , a totally natural method requiring no medication.

Note: This is not just a cure for panic attack symptoms but more importantly they help people to never have an anxiety / panic attack again!

I hope my advice and link to the cure for panic attacks can come in handy,

all the best.

The difference between anxiety attacks and panic attacks is important as it changes the type of treatment you are likely to respond to. For panic attacks antidepressants should only be started at very low doses initially otherwise they could trigger an increase in your panic attacks.

With anxiety attacks, you can starte at a normal dose of antidepressants right away (Antidepressants work for anxiety even if you are not depressed!). Benzodiazepines (such as Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, and Valium) work well for both panic attacks and anxiety attacks, but can be habit forming.

For Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for panic attacks  interoceptive (body) exposures work well; for anxiety attacks, the most effective techniques are relaxation training and thought restructuring. With cognitive behavioral therapy, you are far more likely to do agoraphobia exposures if you have panic attacks because they can so easily trigger agoraphobia  .. the avoidance of certain situation and activities.

My experience is much the same as yours. I finally told my doctor that I thought the pills were doing more harm than good. I stopped taking all - Prozac, Cymbalta, Lithium and others that I have forgotten. I do take Xanax at night so that I can sleep. I have been doing this for 2 years and things get better every day.

You need to stop drinking. Medication often is negatively affected by alcohol. Talk to your doctor or psychiatrist. There are a number of medicines which help with anxiety. Sometimes it takes a while to get the right combination of meds, be patient. But adding alcohol to the mix is really bad. It sounds like you want to get better. Be good to yourself - you deserve it.

To cure panic attacks follow these helpful tips:

-Breathe in and out in a paper bag ( it will ease any unstable breathing or difficulty in breathing - it works for me)

- Sit down or stand up ( whichever you are more comfortable in doing ) and close your eyes and breathe in and out slowly and deeply.

- Fight your own thoughts and think to yourself " I'm not panicking, I'm not worried, there is nothing wrong with me" etc.

- Find something that will occupy you for a while e.g internet or T.V until you calm down FULLY, don't stop doing it if you are still anxious or shaking.
