A:Cucumbers are more delicate than we usually give them credit for. They like to be kept cool, and actually don't like to be kept for a long time at all.
Try to pick them as close to the time you're eating them as possible. Sometimes immersing the slightly wilted cuc's in ice water brings them back to life.
