I was late for work this morning, because I got stuck in Zeno's paradox

According to Judaism, the body is something that should be treated with respect, and not disfigured. For this reason, cremation, organ donations, or donation of bodies to science are not acceptable.

 Which translates to:

In Israel, Cremation was never accepted (Except the body of the Nazi criminal, Adolf Eichmann, which was burned - the ashes were scattered in the mediterranean sea), and was considered by parts of the jewish population a moral tabu for its connection to the Nazi's death camps.

In the past few years, with the option of civic burial instead of religious burial, some funeral homes (Is that the term?) offer Cremation services too.

I hope I helped..

Hebrew speakers - please correct my translation, I have "Bagrut" in a couple of years :)

Your translation is fine but that doesn't mean the info is accurate.  Jewish law forbids cremation and like circumsion is a law commonly folowed by even some of the most secular Jews.  The reminder of the Holacaust my be a further reason why it's not practiced.  Also in Israel most secular Jews still tend to all the Jewish milestone celebrations like Bar Mitsva's Jewish weddings the Jewish mourning customs
