Credit card and online shopping

Do I absolutely have to have a credit card to buy things online? Isn't there another way for me to buy stuff?

Use debit or electronic check! but when you use a credit card you can track the people that pull money out of your account so if any problems with purchases or someone tries to rip you off then you have that information and can fight the charge to your account.

You can start a paypal account, which links directly into your checking or savings account. its very secure and you don't need a credit card. Its actually safer than using a credit card.

Try Paypal they are kinda like a middle man. they can deduct from your checking account (or add to it if you are selling things) They even inform you if someone is trying to add to your account something that you did not purchase! They seem to be very safe, I have used them being an independant contractor and they let you know when your money shows up!

If you have a checking account, get yourself a debit card from the bank.  It can be used for online purchases.  Also, you can set up an account through PayPal where they would have your checking information and you make purchases through them as long as the vendor accepts PayPal payments.

You can buy a prepaid card, which is reloadable, at Walmart. If something ever did happen, and someone got the number, they could only spend as much as you had put on the card. And, if you only plan to use it for a specific purchase, then you only need to put that amount on the card.
