Credit card and online shopping

Do I absolutely have to have a credit card to buy things online? Isn't there another way for me to buy stuff?

I have used paypal in the past, but I understand some people have had problems with them and their honesty.  So I understand Amazon is starting their own version of paypal...I may try that. Paypal has taken money from my checking (small amt) with no authorization. Would not give it back. Gave no explanation. Don't use a debit card...Anyone who gets that info can go empty out your account.  Use credit..you can fight unknown charges if you do. To be really safe go to a store physically and pay cash.  Really only safe way.

Yes paypal offers one time use only credit card numbers for those who have a paypal account.  It essentially works the same as a debit card as paypal is linked to your bank acount.  Of course you can always buy local and invest in your local economy using good old cash.

1) a prepaid Visa card which you can get from most retailers

2) old school.. order the item to put on hold then notify the company you will send a check/money order in.

3) COD the item
