Do I absolutely have to have a credit card to buy things online? Isn't there another way for me to buy stuff?

If it's not fun, you're doing it wrong.

1)Do you count debit cards as credit cards?  That's what I use, a debit card that deducts from my checking account.

2)As long as you have a bank account and e-mail address, you can enroll with Paypal.  It takes a couple of days to get registered with an account because they have to verify your existence and bank account.

3)Lots of vendors will take checks by mail, money orders, and etc.  This, of course, takes longer to process your online order than instant payment, but lots of people prefer it this way on both sides of the transaction.

You can use  a prepaid card which will allow you to make purchases online. Rush is a good prepaid card to have, you do not have to pay extra fee's for this card. You can deposit money in the account and use the card to make purchases online. https://www.rushcard.com

You can use Paypal. I use it and have never had a problem with it.

Hey profitbob, after taking a look at the previous answers, just wanted to note that a growing number of online retailers like overstock.com are also offering loans to cover the cost of the items you'd like to buy. Of course, since it's a loan you'd have to tack on the interest which could be pretty high depending on your credit situation.

Thanks, I didn't know that.  What some people won't do for money.

there is a site called billmelater.com that partners with many online stores - they bill you for purchases (after a credit check)

Some companies will deduct your payment directly from your checking account. You just need to input your checking account info and routing #. Very simple!

I don't think there is another way to pay for online items, but if there was, it would be nice on my side of the country....Cool
