Creating Google maps offline and storing them as images on files

I want to use Google Maps to generate a map of a given area, and add some graphical markers on it, and store the result offline as an image file. Can this be done?

Unfortunately there's no integrated way to do that, but I've came up with two easy solutions-

1. PrintScreen. The most old fashioned way.

2. Download and Install PDF995. Click on Print, on the upper right corner of the map, and choose PDF995 as you printer. that way you can make a PDF out of it as you probably understood :-).
