Crazy ways of inducing labor

I told my pregnant friend (five days over-due) that sex and spicy food, among other things, may help her induce her own labor.I also heard taking a walk or some other type of mild to brisk exercise can help.

What's the craziest old wives tale or tried-and-true method you've ever heard, that is used to induce a womans labor?

I was told once by my employer who was having another baby (I was their nanny) that plutocin is naturally found in sperm that's why you're supposed to have sex towards the end.Is this true?

Let's put it this way - if there were some easy way to induce labor, very few women would be overdue...

Stripping the membranes has been the most effective thing for me, but obviously this is only done in the doctor's office.

Good luck!
