Conditional Formatting?

I have a spreadsheet that lists all of our projects, and when they have been invoiced, and if they have been paid.  I need to figure out how to make the whole row yellow when it's over 30 days past due, and the whole row red when it's over 45 days past due.  I think that I need to use conditional formatting, but I can't get it to do the whole row, it only does one column.  Please help!

In this link you can find a simple highlighting function (Highlight Upcoming Expiry Dates) which it is rather simple and easy to use. If you wish to highlight the row just change the function orders from cell to row. I think it can also be done with the shade rows option (also in the site).

Good luck

If the date is in cell a2 highlight the area you want to change and go to Format - Conditional Formatting.  Change Condition 1 to Formula is and enter =(NOW()-$A2)>45 Click Format and pick red.  Click Add >> and do as above with =(NOW()-$A2)>30 and pick yellow.  Make sure that there is a $ only before the A and not the number as when you copy it down the rows the row number will change to match.
