This is not an easy question since the definition of computers has changed over the years. It used to be that a computer was a person who did numerical calculations often using some mechanical device.
Charles Babbage came up with the idea of a computer, closer to what we know today, in 1837 and called it the "Analytical Engine". He never actually got to build it though.
