Computer fan

i have a computer that recenly would just power down and the fans sounded like a jet fan. well it took me this long to figure out to take the side panel off and found a fan on the back side of the computer just hanging there. i see there are square little hooks and it looks like one of the tit things to hook it too on one side is broken somehow and i put it back and now when i stand the tower back up the fan falls off again and my computer powers down. any suggestions on how to get the fan to stay put or is it ok to keep the tower on its side ?

Just when you think you have all the answers someone comes up with a new question.

Since you have not provided the type or model of computer you have, I can only give a general answer to your question. As far as your computer operating on its side, there shouldn't be any problem other than make sure you are not blocking any vent holes on the side.  My suggestion would be to replace it. There are numerous online stores where you should be able to buy one.  It most likely plugs into the motherboard with a 3-pin connector and should be fairly simple to swap out with little trouble.  If I can be of any further assistance please let me know.

You need to clean out your CPU fan. Even I would suggest you replace it with a new one, otherwise it will more possibility to damage your Processor. You should consult to a computer hardware technician.
