Computer File Transfers

How do I connect my old computer to my new computer to view them both to transfer files from one to the other.  I am planning on buying a new computer, and will want to transfer some of my program data to the new computer.

you can simply connect both the computer by wire.

To elaborate on the previous response, you can do this by simply connecting the two computers using a cross-over cable.  Cross-over cables allow you to connect two computers without the use of a network or connectivity device.
