Compression stockings after spider vein treatment -

I just had my first spider vein treatment yesterday. I wore the stockings for 6 hours but couldn't sleep in them. Today, I wore them for 8 hrs. Is the enough time to be wearing them? I live where it is very hot. I was told 4-5 days...I hope they meant days... not weeks. Foot in mouth
