On average, can some one combine vacation days with a national holiday to extend thier vacation time?

If it's under work, you may check on the policy, but most probably they can be combined.
For vacation, I have something to recommend, why don't you have it at spa resorts or cheap spa days ? and have the spa and massage services, it is very relaxing and refreshing.
