Comatose woman wakes up after husband tells her off

I read a very interesting article (which you can read here) about a husband who told off his comatose wife and actually woke her up doing so.

Yvonne Sullivan, 28, of the English seaside resort town of Weston-super-Mare in Somerset suffered severe blood poisoning during childbirth July 5. The baby, named Clinton, died after the 14-hour labor and Sullivan fell into a coma moments later, according to the report.

Dom Sullivan, 37, stayed by his wife's bedside for two weeks while she was in intensive care.

But when the hospital told him they planned to pull the plug on his wife, he snapped and gave his wife "a firm telling-off," the report said.

Dom Sullivan told the Daily Mail his wife never liked getting a good chewing out. But the move appeared to work and Yvonne Sullivan started breathing on her own two hours later. Within five days, the hospital was able to shut the ventillator off as Yvonne Sullivan regained consciousness, according to the report.

Do you think this is possible or is this a medical miracle?

Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Of course this is possible, because it has happened many times before.  Just because one is in a coma, it doesn't mean that they are unable to hear what one is saying, to sense, or to fight.  Sometimes, people need that extra push to go on, to come back to consciousness.  Sometimes it's something that they need to decide or figure out on their own, and other times it is something they need from someone else, to hear, or to feel from another.  Call it what you want, medical miracle, G-d, human-will, whatever... this is a part of life.

regret is full of missed opportunities.......

exactly! amazing storey too.

they say the last thing to go before you die is the hearing and with this you can still make contact to the mind, your mind controls your whole body so being able to make contact with the subconscious can have dramatic affects. obviously the husbands angle of being angry had the right affect, so while talking to the person in the coma if you can create the right drive in the persons subconscious who knows the possibiltys! amazing stuff... i think the mind is so much more powerfull than we think, and that we are barely touching on our full capabilitys.
