It's All About Me

Im not a doctor ,but i know that my MOM was 65 when she was given the news that she had colon cancer. She has been a smoker for over 40 years with no other health issues. Well to make a long story short and sweet, my MOM had a clostomy done, then the radiation and chemo. That was a lot for her to go through, she was DETERMINED that she was going to get through this and she DID. My MOM was just told today that she is CANCER FREE.she is 67 now by next month a stronger 68. She was on TOP OF THE WORLD today! It's heartwarming to see my mother survive cancer and ENJOY HER LIFE! I hoped this helps , just keep a positive attitude!

NOTICE: By the time you have noticed this notice, you will have noticed that this notice is not worth noticing.

Colon surgery is usually very sucessful (if you live through the operation--don't worry; death during surgery is very rare).  You may or may not require radiation and/or chemo, but if there are no signs of metastesis, there is usually a complete cure.  (However, my father-in-law died of metastatic colon cancer; he waited too long after discovering blood in his stool before seeking help.  This was in the early 1970's, though.)

Life is too serious not to have a sense of humor.

Lorain-

Anywhere from 0 - 100%.

I think that you are looking for statistics.

Your surgeon can quote you these that are associated with the operation, as well as the postOp period. Your anesthesiologist (the gas passer) can discuss your risks associated with being put to sleep.

I believe that you chances for a good outcome here far exceed those chances of speaking to a human when you call a business these days.

And Lorain, not all colon surgery is equal. Whatever your condition is will have some bearing on how things are going to shake down.
