Cold hands in gloves

Call me crazy, but I think my hands get colder when I wear gloves.

If I put on gloves (before leaving the house, at room temperature) and leave on a cold day I feel like my fingers/hands feel colder when I get to my destination than if I just go bare handed.

I've tried an experiment in my car, by only wearing one glove, and I still think that the hand that was exposed feels warmer when I arrive.

Anybody experience something similar? Is it time for new gloves, or is there something more to this?

Itay...you're not crazy...well at least about this issue...LOL When you put your fingers into the gloves, well... that isolates them from the warmth of the adjoining fingers. If you start out with warm gloves and warm hands then... the quality of your gloves, in being able to keep the warmth in, is an issue versus wearing loosely knit gloves that lets the cold in. So, yes, your cold fingers need a buddy system to warm up...like their neighboring fingers! I wear mittens for this very same reason, but the dexterity is minimal! Best advice, if you want to wear the gloves is to start off with everything warm with a higher quality glove or else...keep your hands in your pants...that always works! hehehe  ~Heart

I don't think you are crazy. But yes it also depends on the material of the glove. Woollen gloves generally keep your fingers warm.
