Cockroaches and Red Wine.

Does anyone know a good trick for getting rid of cockroaches without a spray.  I remember seeing in Sydney that people put red wine outside the house to attract them to it.

Any idea how this works?

Never heard of the Red wine thing, however the most safest and natural Cockroach Trap....

A Cockroach trap consisting of a jar, Ground Coffee, and water, placed against a wall. The homemade trap is made from any glass jar containing used coffee grounds and water. Placing the mouth of the jar next to the wall, the roaches are able to crawl up the wall and into the jar, to drown, or at least never escape since they are unable to climb the glass walls. Apparently, only cockroaches are attracted to it. its easy, safe and organic.

For free-standing jars, wrap the outside of the jar with packing tape or similar to give the roaches something to grip onto to climb the jar.

Hope it works out well... Smile

another way is Dust with boric acid, flour and cocoa (1 part acid, 2 parts flour and 1 part cocoa). While still dangerous for kids and pets, this product is not as toxic as many insecticides, and the roaches aren't repelled by it so they drag it home and feed it to their hatchlings. Dust a fine coat in cupboards, under sinks, around toilets and any cracks, corners or hollow spaces. Avoid breathing the powder; like any acid, it can irritate the lungs.
