One of the most crucial factors of knowing how to price cleaning jobs right is knowing where you’re going to perform your services. If you’re working in a neighborhood where people are well off, you can expect to find more work there and be able charge more for your services than you would in a lower income area.

  • Step 2
Keep in mind that if there are already some cleaning businesses operating in your target area, you will have to come up with something that will make your services more desirable for potential customers.

  • Step 3
Check out prices of other cleaning companies in your area to get an idea of what the going rate is. Then calculate your expenses and the value of your time and set your own price based on those criteria. Make sure that after everything is paid, you are still making a fair profit!

  • Step 4
Make sure that you charge your client by the job and not by the hour. This is important as the time it takes you to clean might differ every time and in this way both you and the client will know upfront how much money they will have to pay you. You can use this knowledge to calculate how much money you’re going to make in a week.

  • Step 5
You should introduce a difference in your price list between an initial and a regular cleaning. The initial cleaning will more likely take you longer than the regular one and you should charge more for it.

  • Step 6
Remember that window, refrigerator and oven cleaning is not usually included in the price of a regular cleaning, so you can charge extra for those.
