City University of London

I went into the City University of London Website and was very impressed by the interesting and varied graduate programs they are offering, but still have some questions :

Has anyone studied in the City University of London to share his\her opinion about that institute?

Is it a branch of the "original" University of London or is it independent?

University of London and the City University of London are two different institutes with no relation betweem them. I asked for information a few years ago about some program they offered, but I have no clue about studying there, student life, academic level etc.
